Hi Everyone,

I had some issue 2 months ago with my left breast, rednes under the skin. Everything gone after antibiotics. 2 weeks later I noticed small pink spot (looks different what I had before) on the same breast again. I visited breast clinic they told me that this is nothing-only small rash. My ultrasound which I had 2 months ago was clear. They told me that I shouldn't worry about it. In fact this spot almost gone but two days ago I noticed that is bigger and I am feeling that it start itchy me. I don't feel anything else, skin is smooth. I noticed before small dots in this rash but when I put some cream it was gone but redness is still there and become bigger. I have this from three weeks. It started with a small broken venis. If anyone can help me? I am really worry about ibc. I really don't know where should I seek help. If anyone has any advise foe me or had similar experience ... that would be very helpful for me. Thank you so much.

thank you Melissa for your response. I am just wondering because this redness began with a cracking small venis. It looks like this is under the skin now, no itchy any more but is bigger. I tried put there some cream but this time it is not working. So I just left it. On Tuesday I am going to my doctor again. I am so scared,do you think that this can be dermatological problem? I am really thinking/ worry about ibc, somethimes people had only redness/ pink spot on the breast. I don't know how to resolve this problem.... really i need some advise. I have any other symptoms. If enyone can give me some more details, advise.. every word is important to me. Thank you for understading...

From your description, it sounds a lot more likely to be a dermatological issue than IBC.

Skin issues are very common; IBC is very rare. It sounds as though treatment temporarily resolves or lessens the problem, but then it flares up again. With IBC, antibiotics would not be clearing up the redness.

As the saying goes, when you hear hooves, think horses not zebras. I'd suggest you ask for a referral to a Dermatologist.

Dermatologists can also diagnose skin issues related to breast cancer - ones that an ultrasound can't detect.

    Hi all again,

I have one more question, I am really confused and I don't know what I should think about it. I am 33 years old.

As I mentioned above I had some problems with my breast on July (probably mastic or damage from bra, I saw breast specialist on September, they told me that everything is fine with my breast). Everything cleared after 2 month but in meantime I noticed pink spot on the side of the breast (no itchy, no swollen) disparaged after the month. One week later I noticed 2 pink spots on the bottom of my breast, 3 weeks later disparaged as well. Finally one week ago, I noticed another pink spot but this time on the top of my breast. No itchy, no swollen. All spots started from cracking veins (inside this spot/ rash I see many small veins and also some small dots but they disappeared after 3-4 days but rash staye ). I am using anti fungal cream and I assumed that this cream helped me but now I am not sure. I saw my family doctor yesterday and I asked him about referral to dermatologist but he told me that I should still watch this spot, because before all spots disappeared, so this time this one also should go away. He old me that this not look like fungal or ringworm (what I thought before). But also, he mentioned that he is sure that this is also not cancer because these spots are showing in total different places etc. My question is: if IBC can come and go multiple times and shows up each time in different place? Any answers would be much appreciated. I really don't know what I should think about it, I am just wondering why I have something still on my breast what is showing up and disappears in different places. Thank you for your time.

No, IBC would not show up as random pink spots that come and go over the course of several months. Once there are symptoms of IBC it continues to get worse, usually quite rapidly (days, weeks).
