Karen, hope all goes as gentle as possible.
Mommy, sorry for your loss of beautiful Jackson (viewed precious photo on dogs thread).
Ruth, super photos - thanks for sharing.
-
Thanks ladies. Still hurting from his loss but slowly adjusting. Thankfully my two kitties are helping me through it.
-
Pets are the best! The company I was expecting to show up next week are showing up today. Yikes! I am putting everything else on hold to do a quick get ready!
-
Hauled down my winter curtains and some warmer clothes for hubby and me from the attic. Got the entire first floor curtains changed out. Will get the rest done tomorrow. While I was doing the curtains, I did hubby’s laundry.
-
Karen, just said a prayer for you and your family.
Ruth your pics have brought back many memories as I grew up there. And learned a few things from your comments!
I so want a cheesesteak now!!!
Was active earlier in the week and hope to get in 30 minutes of something tomorrow. 🙂
-
M0mmy: Let your kitties love on you.
Ruth: Have fun with your company!
Mowed today for 90 minutes. It was lovely! Temperature was in the mid/upper 70s. Dh and I picked today to mow bc of the temperature. It will warm back up this weekend.
We went to our county fair tonight. I won a llama and a turtle playing Fat Albert. Gave them to my SIL to give to her 2 year old granddaughter. They like to read "Is Your Mama a Llama?" together.
-
They are Wonder. They take turns throughout the day of cuddling on my lap or napping on my legs
-
Okay, I have survived my company (which was actually very fun). We also are babysitting the grandpuppies this weekend as DS & roommate are out of town until late tonight. So, between all the running around entertaining & dog walking, I've gotten plenty of steps. I will be glad to get back to a more normal routine starting tomorrow.

Here are some of the other places we went in Philadelphia. If you want to see a picture of any of them, just let me know: Observation Deck from the 57th floor of a downtown shopping center, Betsy Ross House, Carpenter Hall (where the 1st Continental Congress met), the Tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary War Soldier in Washington Park, portrait gallery at the 2nd Bank of the United States, the National Constitution Center (which was wonderful), Benjamin Franklin Museum (what a guy!!!!!), The Seaport Museum (complete with a chance to snoop around a historic warship & a submarine), some neat memorials, the waterfront, and pictures of food!
It was on the third floor of this little house that Thomas Jefferson wrote The Declaration of Independence in just three weeks!!
-
my mother-in-law passed away Sunday evening. Finally she is at peace.
-
Sending prayers for her peaceful repose, Karen.
Fascinating history pics, Ruth.
Fun county fair, Wonderland.
Going on a trip again but packed all my sportswear.
-
Sorry to hear this Karen.
-
Karen,
-
Hugs and prayers Karen.
Ha'makom yenahem etkhem betokh she'ar avelei Tziyonvi'Yerushalayim
-
Washed the first laundry of the week and then all my reusable grocery bags.
-
I'm going to Zumba & Yoga tonight.
-
Biking today with a friend: 14 miles, Mosier Twin Tunnels trail near Hood River, OR. Here we're looking at a syncline on the Washington side of the Columbia River. Cloudy, but perfect temperature for biking.
-
Karen, holding you all in the light.
-
Pound and Barre, good to be back on a schedule.
-
So sorry Karen.
Lovely picture Hiking.
Tonight I walked for 30 minutes down by the lake.
-
Karen, condolences to you and family.
Been busy, adding, deleting and changing my teaching schedule. Not boring here on political front. Wet, grey weather and DH and I are off to Dublin on Friday. Let's keep at it everyone!
-
The Walking Women this morning. I'm going to mat pilates in a few minutes and then have to come home and find my lined windpants. The early mornings are getting brisk.
-
Wow Ruth, I always look forward to your Wed Women pictures... we are still in 80's/low 90's through to early October! Then we flip the switch and stay in the 70's...tidewater (coastal) VA.
5 gym classes so far this week...have been going to a balance workshop once a week were the hour long class is atop a bosu ball!
-
Karen, I am so sorry about your beautiful MIL. My she rest in peace.
-
Walked/ran this evening. It's been hot and I have to make myself get outside to do it bc it's so easy to talk myself out of going. Walking later in the evening helps.
I started painting a few pumpkins already. These a small pumpkins. My dh's 98 year old aunt fell and broke 5 ribs. She's was in the hospital but now is in a nursing home in a room with a roommate. I painted the tree heart for our aunt and the oak leaf for her roommate. The moon cat (complete with my black cat Salem) is for my dd.
-
Very neat, Wonderland. I especially like the one with the black cat model beside the pumpkin!
I subbed today (and really earned my paycheck geez), Dance2fit and yoga tonight.
-
Wonderland those are precious. You really have an artistic gift!
Walked around the lake again this afternoon for 30 minutes. Felt good!
-
Thank you everyone for you kind words of condolences. It has been a hard summer and month. We have so many good memories of my MIL. My husband is sitting shiva till Sunday morning and people are asking him about his mother. Our synagogue community is cooking meals for us for the shiva week and also for Rosh Hashanah as I've not had time to cook.
89 today - one degree shy of a record!!! At least next week its cooling down to the 60s.
Sweet dreams

6 month check up with oncologist this afternoon. He's keeping me on a 6 month schedule. My most recent DEXA scan showed a 4.5% decline in bone density from 2 years ago. Last year in September we discussed Zometa but I wasn't ready to jump on it as it is infusion. The thought of being in the infusion room makes me cringe - too many not pleasant memories. In March, we took Zometa off the table as it is hard on the kidneys. So today, oncologist suggested Prolea - it is a shot - that I can deal with a shot. It is every 6 months for 2 to 3 years. So I agreed - oncologist office is going to get pre-approval from insurance. Oncologist also talks about the benefit from Prolea (more from Zometa) in preventing bone mets. He said 3 - 4% for me.
Wishing everyone a good week-end.
-
Glad your friends are bringing you food, Karen, as I think that is so very helpful during a difficult time. Also glad you can do a shot and not an infusion. I know what you mean; it took years before I could even pass the clinic where I did chemo without my stomach flipping over as I drove down the street.
I subbed again today & went straight from school to the theater & watched Downton Abbey. If you are a fan of the show, you will love it! i hit the treadmill for 45 minutes once I got home.
