In my counseling classes they warned us that losing a pet was often worse for people losing a human family member. You received unconditional love from your dog and returned it to him. Of course it's a huge huge loss. We're here to provide support that your family seems unable to give you. Hugs.

mommy that is exactly how I’m still feeling about my Colby, he was there through the roughest chemo days by my side, and when he knew I felt a little better pushing me to walk him. I can’t just get over it, my husband wasn’t as close with him, my daughter gets it but she doesn’t live close. I was with Colby all day every day, it will take awhile.hugs to you

Had it out with my hubby last night about his attitude. He finally understood how I am feeling and said that I should not apologize for missing Jackson as much as I do. He told me he has been missing him and he cried the night we lost Jackson when he went to bed.

As to the others who are telling me to move on and forget Jackson, screw them! Especially my mom! Some of you know from my past posts here that she and I don't have a great relationship. She has a dog and so I feel like telling her the next time she starts about me missing my dog so much, “You still have your dog! Be thankful you can hold him and interact with him, because I never will have that chance again! So don’t tell me how to feel or what to do!
