Find the “Starting chemo September 2019” group (or whatever it’s called). Also, find threads that started a few months earlier than you—I found it really helpful to hear from women who were further along in their treatment. I’ve posted on several threads that protein is really important. I ate red meat 5-6 times a week, ate an egg every day, and drank a protein shake every day. My blood levels stayed really good throughout. I didn’t cold cap (read too many stories from women who only had partial success, although it works for some), and didn’t ice, but did dress in sandals and said no thank you to warming blankets. I only got a little neuropathy on the bottom of my feet. Others will weigh in with good advice

Hi, I had AC chemo in 2017 (followed by Taxol, then radiation and now Tamoxifin). The first chemo was the scariest because I wasn't sure what to expect and had all the horrible side effects that were in the guidebook in my mind. The meds they gave me w the chemo made me sleepy afterwards but then the steriods would keep me up for a few days, so I would say to try and not get frustrated with the sleep schedule and rest when you can. Once you get past the 1st chemo, you will know exactly what to expect and how your body will feel since everyone is different. Chemo was hard, but rads was actually harder on my physically. The hair loss came closely after the 2nd treatment for me and it was tough but after awhile, you realize that not having to deal w all the extra girly maintenance (shaving, etc) is kinda a nice break while you concentrate on healing and towards the rainbow at the end--being a survivor. Wishing you the best and prayers for minimal side effects. XO
