Asking just in case, maybe someone here has been through similar scenario.

I got my subpectoral expander in May, ended up doing radiation therapy which wasn't planned in the beginning. I finished radiation 10 days ago. My plastic surgeon mentioned that the earliest my exchange surgery would be done is about six months past radiation.

My appointment with PS booked in two months, I am trying to rebook it earlier. Just wondering if someone knows whether exchange surgery can be done sooner. The timing of surgery might have impact on my return to work process.

Please advise.

I had finished radiation with expanders in in Sept 2017 and wanted the exchange done before Jan 31 2018 as my insurance was due to reset back on Feb 1 so I would’ve had to pay my deductibles again. Since I had no issues during radiation and healed well my plastic surgeon did not have an issue with it at all so we did the exchange last week of January so 4 1/2 months out from radiation. He had said no sooner than four months after and I was good with that.

Thank you LeesaD, I didn't know about four months. I will book an appointment with PS to discuss the dates of my exchange surgery!

question...I am 5'8" and weigh around 175 lbs (gained a bit of weight due to menopause and steroids) usually weigh around 165 lbs. I had my double mastectomy mid August. I found out that I needed to have radiation. My TE's are in and I'm on my 3rd fill. I have about 3 more to go before I have to start radiation. My first fill was 60cc's, my second and third have been at 90cc's. If I continue the last 3 at the 90cc's I will finish with a total of 510cc's. Any idea of what that will look like? I was a small “b" before surgery and really wanted to get to a full “d". My PS didn't think I could get to that size but says he thinks I will be happy with what I get when done. I know they can't measure cup sizes but I'm curious as to what 510cc's will look like on my body type? Any help or ideas appreciated! Thanks
