Any hand drummers with LE?

My senior center is having a hand drum class, starting Monday. It sounds like fun, would get me out of the house.

Problem is, I have LE in both arms, and my dominant hand is always swollen. I’m wondering if it would be harmful to my hand to do the class.

Any ideas?

    Hi, Spookiesmom,

This sounds like a fun class! You could try it and see how your hands/arms react. You'd want to go VERY easy the first time you try it. Gentle drumming, alternating hands, and only for, say, 15 minutes at a time, increasing by 15-minute increments at the next class meetings. Do wear your sleeves and gloves. They might interfere a bit with the sound of the drum, but that's hardly a reason not to give it a try. Let us know how it goes!

    Gentle hugs,
    Binney
