Hi Everybody,
Lone Star sounds great to me. I've heard they have good food.
Ann - I'll be happy to pick you up. It'll be a great motivator to clean out my car. Also, you can help me navigate the roundabout. If any other "northerners" would like to meet up and drive down together, say the word.
Tina - I have no idea how far it is, but hope you (and Shel) can join us. We always have a good time.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
Irene -
Sorry I've been absent for a while. My DH picked up a really bad cold on the way home from Mexico, and I've been worried sick about him. We think he's got a sinus infection. He called our little clinic thia afternoon, and the doctor on call, God bless him, prescribed and antibiotic over the phone. I am sure it will help a lot.
Brighton is about 50 miles west of Detroit and the bridge. You DON'T have to do the roundabout to get to the Lone Star. Go down I-96 (east or west) and take the Brighton exit. It's the second Brighton exit if you are coming west. I believe that the Lone Star is in the shopping center just south of the highway, as I recall. I'll be over there next week--I'll look and make sure.
To get here from south or north, take US-23 to I-96 and go west. Follow the previous directions. I'll see you guys there. -
Noon at the Lonestar. Okay. See ya then.
Janis -
Irene, Thank you so much! However, don't clean out your car for me. If you could see mine, you'd know why I'm saying this. Roundabouts are a mystery to me, so I'll be there to give you moral support. I'm sure we can figure itout together.
Ann -
Jackie - hope to meet you at the next one.
Yay Tina. It will be nice to finally meet you in person. Hope Shel can make it also.
Don't worry about the roundabout! We avoided it by going to the Lone Star. Of course, if you decide to go shopping on your way home, you are on your own!
Great that Irene and Anna worked out a ride.
Kay - hope DH is doing better. I had a cold for a couple of weeks that knocked my socks off. Tonya and her boys had one also. Must be some mutant thing going around.
Hoping for a tiny bit of global warming for the 10th. Just a few wee degrees so everyone can make the drive.

Nancy -
Mary and I were thinking we should take a count so I can probably get reservations as early as this weekend.
Does this sound right so far?
Irene, Ann, Kay, Gerri, Denise, Chris, Nancy, Janis, Mary, Bob, (maybe Alex?), Tina, Shel, Julie (Painted Fancy), Anne (ArmyNavyMom, (maybe Tonya).
If anyone wants me to post on a particular topic, let me know. I do not get around all the topics anymore. Or if anyone else wants to post, please do.
Hey - where is Pat (pconn), Candy, 3Bears ... bunch more that I don't mean to leave out! -
Hey Nancy and all:
I'm presently in Milwaukee visiting my little grandbaby, Reilly who is 20 months old and such fun. She is a real character!!! Anyway, yes I do plan to be at the luncheon on March 10 - please count me in!!
Gerri - if I am passing your way to get to Brighton (which I think I am) I would be happy to pick you up . . . let me know or I can PM you as well.
Hugs,
Pat -
Yay Pat - come armed with pictures.

I know, I'm still missing a bunch. Looks like we have a nice big group this time. I'll update the list as people check in. -
We've revised our plans. There are a few hotels not far from the Lone Star restaurant so we're going to book a room at one of them. Bob & Alexandra will stay at the hotel (so Alexandra can swim) while I join you all at Lone Star.
Please tell me that the dreaded turnabout is no where near the hotel. -
Wow, I have been without my pc for quite sometime and logged on and see another get together in progress.
I printed out directions to the Lonestar and would really love to finally meet you all. I will do my best to be there but can't say definitly. It's 120 miles for me so we shall see. Just curious, is anyone else near the thumb?
Hope to see you there!
Fran -
C'mon Fran, you can do it! It will be nice to meet you.
Mary - If you stay off of US-23 you will avoid the roundabout. Bob and Alexandra should have a good time swimming.
Another caution, US-23 is going to be under construction starting March 1st. I know it is the best route North/South but it is going to be a mess from I-96 to I-94.
(I didn't know if that was US-23 or I-23)
--- Fixed it to US-23, Thanks Ann -
It is VERY rare for me to be sad we moved back to Alaska from Michigan, but this is one of those times! I use to live about 5 miles from where you are meeting! Whaaaaa I want to come too! I would LOVE to meet all of you girls in person. Take lots of photos for me and someone have a drink for me
Hugs
Deb C -
Sphynx - it is US-23, to answer your question.
Deb - I'll try to remember my camera and take photos for you!
Anne -
Hey Kats,
I'm not sure on the hotel, but I "think" they are in the same area as LoneStar....No Round About!
Deb: Wish you could be here too! I don't know if you've made your final plans for your trip to Michigan yet..But FYI..The Komen walk in Detroit is June 16th. this year!
Looking forward to meeting everyone.(Hope my Chronic Cough Spasms have quit by then. The Bug has left, but my whole family gets these dry spasms, and nothing but nothing will stop them until they are ready to stop!!)
hugs,
Denise -
Woohoo no roundabout, thanks Denise.
Bob (DH) knows how to navigate them because we lived in England for 3 yrs. I didn't drive the whole time in England, what with driving on the opposite side of the road and roundabouts, too much for me to handle.
-
I say we have the next one in Alaska! I've always wanted to go there....
-
Wow...lots of posts to read...I am just returning from a week long vacation! Luckyanna...do you still need a ride?
I am not sure if DH will attend Kats...as we just have word that our daughters will be home next weekend. -
Hi Chris,
It seemed like you have been pretty quiet. Hope you had a good vacation. If you haven't caught up on your reading yet, It looks like Mr. Kats and the kitten are going to stay at the hotel and swim. Mr. NotMe is still welcome of course. Is your daughter going to join us? Have you talked to Barb and ConnieSue?
I'm going to make reservations for 18 soon. I'll post around and see if anyone missed our posts. We can always add more and I figure, even if 12 show up, we have a nice big gathering this time. -
If anyone is coming from West Michigan and wants to ride together...let me know. Otherwise I might stop off at the outlet mall before or after the event in Howell.
Janis
who is traveling around 180 miles. =0) -
See you all on Saturday!! It will be fun to meet all of you and just be out and have some fun!
Love and Hugs,
Denise -
Hi Michigan ladies. My name is Trish and I am from Taylor Michigan. I just had my last Chemo 2 weeks ago. I am still trying to recover. I caught a bug or something when my count was low. I see you are all meeting Saturday. Have fun!
Take care, Trish -
hi everyone. looks like Im the only Yooper in the crowd. have fun at your luncheon
-
My vacation was great...I had way too much fun! Barb and Conniesue can't make it to this gathering as both had previous plans.
Stack...my daughter is a Yooper want to be...having lived five years up at MI Tech.
To all of you ladies on this board...please join us on Saturday...it is always fun! -
Trish - please come join us! We're getting together at the Lone Star in Brighton. Can someone post the link for Trish, please?
Stack - I lived in Ishpeming for 3 years. I know that doesn't make me a true Yooper, but it's close...
Can't wait until Saturday. I'm being bad, and cutting short a church council meeting so I can come. This was on the calendar first though!
Anne -
Oh, don't want to bury the details. I made reservations for 18 so far. I'll keep adding, the more the merrier! Janis suggested we have name tags and I actually found a packet from last year in my glove box. (Sure need to clean my car).

Nancy -
Would any of you be bored or offended in I brought a scrapbook of my boys? =0) I have one taken every year on vacation for the last 5 years in Northern Michigan...I hate to bore people about my kids!
Janis -
Janis,
I know I'd love to see them. Bring them!
Look at this.... The forecast is practically a heat wave for Saturday - 44 degrees.
http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/USMI0108.html -
Janis,
I'd love to see the scrapbook of your kids, I use to do regular scrapbooking now I do digital.
Mary -
Hi to all,
Trish, I hope you can make it to lunch on Saturday. I'm a first timer and I know a few of the others haven't met either. Sounds like the weather is going to cooperate for us!
By all means, Bring scrapbooks, pictures, we'll look at everything!
See you Saturday!
Denise -
Hi,
I am still trying to work it out so I can come. I will have to have my sister or daughter drive me there. Is that ok. I am hoping that I can make it. It is only about 1 hour away for me.
