What does that mean in my MRI results? My Dr ordered a follow up ultrasound. She didn’t even call me, just sent me a portal message.

It is really impossible to say without a lot more information. Why did you have the MRI? Enhancing mass could be anything really as MRIs are not very specific. That is probably why they want another look with an ultrasound.

Thanks for the quick reply! I’m doing enhanced surveillance for a high risk of breast cancer (family history + prior radiation to my chest for a different cancer + BARD1 mutation).

    What else could it be?

    I’m 36 years old with 3 little girls (5/3/1).

To Melissa's point, without further detail about the type of enhancement and other information about the appearance of the mass, it could be anything from a benign cyst to a malignant cancer.

Unfortunately they don’t give much more detail other than the size and position. I don’t know if there’s more that the dr can see but the radiology report they pushed to the portal just mentioned the enhancing mass and recommends and ultrasound to investigate further.
