DD Taxol anyone?
I am doing AC-T starting 9/10 and my MO said we could DD the taxol too. So rather than weekly it would be DD biweekly I think. If I do it that way I will be done before the holidays and end of the year if everything goes well which really appeals to me. Anyone done this? Side effects?

Don't know that I would do dose dense Taxol, especially not after dose dense AC. The (simplistic) way my MO explained it, the Adriamycin and Cytoxin are the big guns, sent in first to obliterate as much of the cancer as possible. There's a reason it's called Red Devil . It's powerful stuff and you're really wiped out after 4 dd A/C treatments.
The Taxol is then used to mop up any residual cells. I did really well with chemo, but by those last few Taxols, I was ready to throw in the towel. I could only walk 5 or 6 feet before I was out of breath. It was like I was trying to walk through concrete. I made it, but just barely. I don't think I would have made it through 6 dose dense Taxol infusions.
That's just my point of view. Maybe others will chime in with a different perspective.
Best wishes for a great outcome, no matter which you choose.

I had DD Taxol. I hated it. Was fainting left and right and generally felt miserable. After the first two treatments I developed an allergy to it and was switched to Abraxane. It was a little better. But if I was given a choice again, I would still do DD. At least I was done with chemomuch faster!

I did DD AC and DD Taxol.
While I did lose my hair, was fatigued and had a few other minor side effects I was able to function at a relatively normal level on both. You could start on DD and if it's too much your Dr could switch you to weekly.
Good Luck

Thanks for the responses! I think I am going to try it--I really want to be done before the end of the year. Going to be cancer free in 2020

I’m doing AC before T and finished 4 AC’s and then started T yesterday. I did really well with AC but after the first couple hours after T started developing tingling in my face and hands which makes me really nervous. Any advice? I have 3 more left and would like to continue teaching.

After talking to my MD we decided that the weekly would be better. I really wanted to avoid a permanent neuropathy situation and she felt that the weekly is less likely to cause it. I am done with 3 and have not had any neuropathy symptoms yet (still early, I know) I have not started icing yet. I have the supplies but I hate being cold and am going to wait until I feel some symptoms. I would talk to your MD and let them know about your symptoms.
