Hello all,

I've found a red rash with some ridges under my breast. I went to the doctor who sent me for an ultrasound. Everything came back clear. However, the rash hasn't gone away or changed. It almost looks like red stretch marks.

My symptoms is just the rash. No heat, pain, etc. I'm only 28. My doctor is sending me to a breast specialist to rule out IBC and I'm just beyond worried and stressed over this.

99% of the time, a rash is a rash.

How long have you had the rash? New bra or an old bra chafing your skin? New detergent or new soap? Anything that could be causing redness?

Hopefully the breast specialist is able to quickly rule out IBC. In that case, if the rash hasn't gone away or lessened, I'd suggest a dermatologist.

Try not to worry. The odds of having IBC at age 28, and with the only symptom being a rash that hasn't been getting worse quickly (which is how IBC usually progresses), is miniscule.

when you hear hoof beats, think horses, not zebras. I'm glad your doctor is getting you checked out, but Beesie is right, the chances of you having IBC are almost zero.
