Lupron stopped, no period for 6mo
My onco started me on monthly lupron during chemo. My last shot was in Dec, I was only on it for 3mo. However it says my period should return within 3 months and it's been 6. Has this happened to anyone? I'm only 37, I don't want to be in full menopause yet.

Hi,
I'm in the exact same boat :-( lupron stooped end of March. Chemo ended early April. Still no period. Blood work indicates stone cold menopause with almost no estrogen. Horrible hot flashes, night sweats, weight gain, depression, vaginal dryness, no libido, and joint pain. I'm also 37 years old and am terrified that this could be permanent menopause for me. Have you had your hormones checked? What does your doctor say? Mine says it's too early to tell if it's permanent, but I'm freaking out. I was terrified of hormonal therapy but always thought that if the side effects were too bad, I could just quit and they would be reversible. Now, I'm scared that this might be permanent. I really hate cancer treatments, they are barbaric

I haven’t had my hormones tested but I should. I just finished radiation 2 months ago so I’m breathing a small sigh of relief. Still no period but my hot flashes & vaginal dryness seem to be improving. I’ve also been juicing everyday and it’s made such a huge difference! I think it helped w a lot of the side effects

I am not sure I'd your onco told you this but chemo will knock out the ovaries in most women over 40. ALSO it might be of interest to Google the SOFT trials and the TEXTA trials.
Menopause sucks. You might get some relief from researching whole foods plant based eating and watching the breast cancer videos on nutritionfacts.org

I was on Lupron for one year when I was 46 and not menopausal. I didn’t have chemo. Six months after I stopped L my period started again. Do you have any PMS like symptoms?

My onc said that taking lupron during chemo would help protect my ovaries.
