Thinking of you and hoping that the new plan provides you with a pain free existence and also much improved outlook. It all sounds very coordinated and good.

Sunset, lifting you up in prayer today for a successful surgery that results in pain relief. Then cyberknife, and on to Navelbine. I love your treatment team and your plan. Sending you big hugs ~ JL

Vinocap, actually. Navelbine (vinorelbine) along with capecitabine (Xeloda). But ”vinocap” sounds like it should be a glass of wine at bedtime, doesn't it?

Hi Sunset! Thinking of you and hoping the kyphoplasty goes well and does the trick with that pain. I had one 6 years ago... compression that just wouldn't heal, and once the fog of the procedure wore off, I had immediate pain relief and have had no issues down there since. I am sure you will get the same results, and you get the extra ablation! (is that what you called it?) So sorry to hear about the brain mets but glad you already have a plan in place to zap them. Those procedures work wonders! I think you will be back in the world of feeling "normal" and enjoying quality of life SOON! In the meantime, hope you are resting comfortably! You have an online army of people that love you and are praying for you!

    Big hugs!

    XO

Radiation is also a good thing for another reason- blasting open some cancer cells can help your immune system to go after the cancer, works synergistic with chemo; this is coming together well

Sorry you are in this spot but it does sound like a great plan. I would have plenty of hope for a solid response. Radiation can get you an abscopal effect, which could go very far in killing cancer cells. We are all in your pocket.

Here's to zapping brain mets, a toast to Sunset with our AM coffee. Here here!

I was wondering if IR did Kyroplasty. I have my personal IR who calls me his VIP patient and works me at the last minute. Yay for IRs.💞

Omg you won't believe this! Last night a transit orderly ran me full speed into a wall !! I seized up from groin to neck! She didn't even report it. Well... I told EVERYONE. Especially since I had the worst night I've had in weeks with pain. Definitely being reported.

Good news tho. Had the ablation and kypho today. Doc says technically it went very well . Already feeling a bit better. Although I think I'm still feeling nerve repercussions from the accident. We will know the full extent of it working in a couple of days.

    But I'm smiling! 🙂

Sunset, WOOHOO that the ablation and kypho went well. I am glad that it is behind you and you can rest and recover. What can I say about that orderly????? I do hope you don’t suffer any more pain as a result of her incompetence. I am sending good vibes your way.

    Hugs and prayers from, Lynne

good Morning friends. I am HOME!!

I am in a wheelchair, using a walker and other hospital what nots. But I'm home. It's SO nice to be here. I think I'll heal a lot faster here too.

So, the breaks and thinning vertebrae have been sealed up, I can't believe it took so long to be found. Next week, I start Cyberknife (another brand) to the brain. After that I can resume my chemo, which I haven't really even able to get since I keep having to deal with the local issues.

Hopefully the brain rads will do its thing and nothing else will grow during the chemo pause.

So, I'm still here. Still hopeful. (Realistic , but more hopeful). Thanks for the support. I hope you are all doing as well as you can.

sooooo happy you’re home Darling. Nothing like your own place. Rest up and be as comfortable as you can. Humid day here . Yuck. Sweet dreams. I’m thinking of you resting up after that hospital stay. That can be stressful. Wish you the best!

lots n lots of love ABS!!! Nothing beats coming home to one’s own bed and comforts.

If you are in need of a good series to watch, my absolute favorite is called Offspring on Netflix. It is incredibly delicious and funny and tender and I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen for one second while watching.

I hope you are feeling as pain free as possible and let’s zap those little brain boogers outta there!!

Love and hugs being sent to you!!!!

The Great British Baking Show -- this was a highly ironic binge I did while on my low carb food averse chemo regime.... but what a lovely charming funny human show, cool challenges, and you learn a lot about baking! Fun and light and yet suspenseful!!

So glad you are home! Nothing like your own bed!

Another good binge worthy show is "Dead to Me"... .although I realize the title isn't great, especially here. It's a dark comedy, but super funny. I will have to check out Offspring...I need another series.

Anyway - back to Sunset - happy for you!

Yay Sunset. Hopefully, you will be out of pain soon. Home Sweet home. What was that orderly thinking? What was the ablation like? I may have one someday.💞

Grannax, the ablation was just part of the kyphoplasty so I didn't notice anything different. The pain from the spine ceased ina day or two. Pretty f ing amazing. But I DO have a lot of rehab pain. And I'm not walking yet. Happily at home in a hospital bed In a living room filled with my needs. PT three times a week, full time care giver, etc. PT say a month Or More before i see true changes in mobility. I just have to be to patient.

I start SBRT TO BRAIN METS on Tuesday. 🤞🏻

    Lots going on.

ABeautifulSunset has given me permission to post an update. It is not a happy one. Things are quite difficult for our dear Sunset, and she is on 24-hour home care. Leptomeningeal disease — cancer in the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord — was discovered. Even with treatment this carries a poor prognosis. She has very qualified people to help with the medical decisions. Quality of life is of course important to her. What she could really use from us is the emotional support that we BCO sisters can provide. I am very sad, and also very honored to stand with her now. I admire her courage and grace in facing this, her honesty, her love for her friends and family, and her devotion to her kids and their well-being.❤️😢.
