I have a tentative date for my exchange surgery. It's not until November and much further out than I was hoping for. Another disappointment is that it is only 3 1/2 weeks before my nieces wedding. It is really important to me to be able to be there and have fun! Is this possible? Will I still be hurting to much to enjoy? I won't have to drive or travel far....

I plan to wade through the "exhcange city" thread but just don't feel up to it yet. Anybody willing to share their experience with getting back to "normal"?

Barring any complications you should get your dancing shoes on for your nieces wedding. Just keep your dance low impact!! 😅

Big thing with exchange surgery is no lifting weight for 6 weeks. I was on the stationary bike a week after surgery, doing modified yoga 3 weeks out and all restrictions lifted at 6 weeks and I had tons of revisions! I also had to wear this annoying breast strap for a while after, some surgeons use them others don’t . You may need to take that into account on what attire you wear! No surgical bra but the breast strap!! But PS vary so much on those protocols

I hope your surgery is an easeful one and has a beautiful outcome. You will be swollen for a bit but as long as you aren’t having a ton of pocket work or revisions it should be smooth sailing.

Best wishes and congratulations to you!!

Thanks for the encouragement! Great to hear! Part of me can't wait and the other half feels like I'll never be ready.

    Hodgepodge-

I felt that way about all my surgeries. So common! I tried to delay every surgery I had; citing I needed to rest more between going under again. I never succeeded in delaying!

It really makes a difference though moving onward when receiving your implants. Despite your apprehension, it’s giant step forward!

I had a ton of revisions and I was driving within a few days. My last exchange I had lipoectomy of my lat flap scar, capsulectomy, nipple reconstruction and downsized my implant size which required pocket work. I never take heavy meds: only Torodel or Tylenol. My Dr didn’t restrict me on this surgery and since pain meds didn’t loop me I was free to go! The big thing was no lifting or weight bearing on arms for six weeks
