Pleural lung mass

Options

Hi all,

I'm back. About 13 years ago I had stage 3 A ER/PR neg her2+. Today I was diagnosed with a mass in my lung. ER/PR neg, her 2 pending. So here we go again. I'm worn out. Is this going to be ok? Wondering if I should get a second opinion. I just need some support, to know that I'll be ok for a little while!

I am sorry you're dealing with this. Have the doctors spoken about a treatment plan? Hoping the treatments get you to NED (no evidence of disease). When the cancer comes back at distant sites, the treatment is ongoing, but hopefully will kick it back for a long, long time.

hey flower. Almost the same situation for me - similar stats , 13 years since primary, primary was 3a (my signature says 3c - it is wrong).

Lungs as well but mine is worse - lungs are stuffed with them as well as all chest nodes.

Median survival for people like us on a few months of taxane and then herceptin and pertuzumab is like 5 years which is far longer than the average 2- 3 years for breast metastasis.

Some people live for years and years after - 10+.

My oncologist told me she is expecting it to go to NED in my case due to lung metastasis being relatively reaponsive to treatment and a long time to progression which is related to better prognosis.

If you think about it your case is far better - you have only one shadow. If you read a book "how to starve cancer " by Jane mclelland she had a single lung metastasis which she had operatiln for and she is living disease free for many years.

Good luck and chin up xx

Antherone, so glad you're doing well. You should plan on NED... 🌸🌸

Yesterday I saw my onc and learned this new occurrence is now triple negative. I'm so discouraged. I was thrilled for herceptin the first go around and now I don't have that in my bag of drugs. My onc seems so indifferent, ughhh. I'm going to look at the reference you provided above. Thank you ♥️
