Hope all are well.

Quick question... how long after mastectomy with direct reconstruction did you wait before sleeping on your side for a bit?

I had delayed DIEP reconstruction and I was told no side sleeping for 4 weeks, minimum. I had some complications, so I ended up sleeping on my back for about 12 weeks. So much fun...

On 8/5 I had BMX with left side latissimus Doris flap and tissue expanders on both sides, so I still have a way to go before final implants are in. My PS surgeon said it was fine to start sleeping on my side as long as I was comfortable. He said to just us pillows to cushion and support.

I had my surgery in mid April and I probably just started side sleeping a few weeks ago. It hurts if I do it for too long even now. My chest feels best when I sleep on my back.

I had Left MX with direct to implant reconstruction and I was able to sleep on my left side after a couple of nights (even before my drain was removed).
