Breast dimples, extremely worried.
Hello, I wrote on here a few months ago. With the same issue. I'm just so worried, my anxiety is so bad, I'm almost in tears.
I'm 21, no cases of breast cancer in the family.
I have noticed, since the end of May, that my breasts, more specifically my right, has a few dimples on them. I am pretty overweight, so maybe it's just cellulite? My breasts feel pretty lumpy, they feel pretty much the same and look the same. Except, my right is a bit more lumpy than the left. I stretched my skin out, earlier, and thought how my breast looked kind of like the skin of an orange peel. (Though, when my anxiety gets very bad, I see things that aren't really there. My mind makes me think something is there.) If you can't already tell, I'm a hypochondriac. A big one. I saw pictures of Inflammatory Breast Cancer, and now my mind automatically thinks I have it, because my breast is a bit dimply. In the past, I never really paid attention to my breasts, or did self breast exams. I saw something on google one day, checked my breast, and saw a couple dimples now my mind is constantly thinking about it. My breasts feel and look the same, besides the extra dimple. I don't have an inverted nipple, and my skin doesn't really look like an orange peel. They have pretty decent size pores on them, though, but the exact same size as on my leg and stomach. Can being overweight cause breast dimples? I only see them in the mirror, in certain lighting. Only when I raise my arms up. When I bend down, or stand normally, they aren't there. It's only one spot on the right, but under my breast, there's one on each. They don't look much different than they did in May, when I first started worrying. It sucks because when I searched online, all it brought me to was cancer, which is aggravating and extremely worrisome.

I'd suggest you talk to your primary care doctor about your health anxiety issues.

What you describe does not sound like IBC. And IBC would not remain stable since May. You say your breasts have not changed since May, and in your previous post in May, you said you were seeing your Gynecologist on July 9th. What did the doctor tell you?

I missed my appointment, I made another one for this Tuesday. I feel like it’s my anxiety, I’m just a huge hypochondriac. I’ve just noticed some dimples, and all the internet says is Cancer. That worries me, but I don’t know if they’re new, or if they’ve been there before.

As you already know, googling "breast" anyhting will bring you to cancer. As if there were no other topics in the whole universe. Only cancer. No wonder women get so scared. Especially young women, such as yourself at 21, who have virtually NO chance that this is cancer. There are many, many things which can affect our breasts. Weight, genetics, fat distribution, cellulite, benign conditions such as fibrocystic breasts. Not everything is cancer! In fact, most things are NOT cancer, especially at your age.
Keep your doctor appt. You need to have those dimples checked and get the reassurance you're craving. I think your chances of having breast cancer are approximately the same as your chances for winning a flying goat farm.

Thank you very much. I know, there’s probably a HUGE HUGE chance I don’t have it, I just have severe health anxiety and always fear the absolute worst. Breast cancer is very rare for me, especially IBC that is even rare for someone in their 40-50s, google always causes the worst panic. I’m gonna keep my appointment for Tuesday and just get a normal breast exam. See if they see anything weird. It probably is just a weight issue, I’m a bit overweight. Again, thank you!

I know, right? Wouldn't that be great!

so, I don’t have any insurance, so I couldn’t go to my appointment. But my breasts look and feel the same, so I’m going to try and calm down about it. If my anxiety still acts up, maybe I’ll go to Planned Parenthood for a breast exam. Thank you for the reassuring replies on here, really helped when read!
