I was just diagnosed today, after visiting a plastic surgeon to have my implants removed because I no longer wanted them. The skin was ulcerated on the right so he ordered a biopsy to rule out cancer. Got the call today saying unfortunately it is and here I am now. I have a CT scan this morning then I'm not sure what happens after.

I'm only 32.I'm afraid the cancer has spread. Like I said I have implants. And my right side has been getting high and tight for some time. And it is very painful. But this can be a side effect of implants so I waited. Guess I shouldn't of. Have any of you ladies dealt with an ulcerative tumor? Or have implants? I'm not sure if they affect treatment.

Hi Jlynn207, I cannot speak to any of your questions because I've never had implants, but I wanted you to know that you are not alone. Look through the different topics to see what might be most relevant to your situation and you will find plenty of information to help you make a plan. Everyone's experience is a little different, but many steps are the same.

For me, after my biopsy results I was referred within a few days by the mammography center to a breast surgeon. I made an appointment with her and got a lot of information about my specific diagnosis and the treatment options associated with it.

Between appointments, I'd recommend reading through the information on this website, not just the discussion forums, because it is extremely helpful in beginning to understand all the new terminology you'll be hearing and all of the basics of breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. And while you're still in the terrified mode - which will pass as you gain more accurate information about your own situation - try not to read too much on other websites unless they come from credible sources like well known hospitals. You'll just cause yourself needless worry.

Wishing you courage and peace as you begin this journey.

    Anne

Jlynn, I can't really speak to your specific concerns, but what I can tell you is that there's a huge group of women on this site who really understand your emotions right now and to a woman, we're all sorry you've found yourself here. Sure, one in eight women will get breast cancer, but why are thirty-two year old women getting breast cancer? Let me tell you right now (and I am old enough to be your mother): you did nothing to cause this.

I was diagnosed a year ago this week. When I was in your shoes, it was so hard to imagine what was ahead. Very early on I found this site when researching side effects of chemo and I read several times women saying to other women: "You don't have to be brave. You just need to show up and do the next thing they tell you to do."

Know you have a lot of newfound friends rooting for you. Keep us posted. ❤️
