It was supposed to be nothing
hi ladies. I’m so sad to be here. I’ve had little scares in the past but it was always benign. Here’s my story. I had a breast augmentation 1.5 years ago and recently noticed a few months ago on my old scar that there was a nodule the size of my knuckle. Soft. Movable but there suddenly. I showed my plastic surgeon and he said it was only scar tissue and sent me on my way. 2 months later I was still uneasy about it so during a routine physical I showed my GP. Well, he wasn’t happy. Sent me for an urgent ultrasound next day. Radiologist said it was a biraids 3 and we hadn’t choice of waiting 6 months or doing biopsy now. He wasn’t sure what the mass is. It looks like scar tissue or fat necrosis on ultrasound but cant say for sure. So I go to my trusted breast surgeon For his final say and he opts for biopsy then and there. He thinks it’s ita a lipoma but needs to make sure and doesn’t want to wait 6months. Results next weeek. I cannnot sleeep

A lipoma is benign, right? Hope it all turns out ok and you can move on!!

I had a lipoma on my neck, just under my chin, and got it removed a few years ago. No big deal, and it was 7 cm.

Hi Layla-44. I know you are anxious and will feel so much better when you get your results. I did want to mention that the BiRads 3 designation is given when a finding is probably benign, with a 0-2% chance of malignancy, so the chances are *very* good that it really is nothing to worry about.

thank you all for your kind words. I'm so concerned as I wasn't expecting a core biopsy. I really thought my breast surgeon / specialist would have said it was nothing worrysome nd sent me on my way. Usually for cysts and Fibroadenomas he never seems bothered and never biopsied before. This time was different and I'm so so concerned.

first of all I'm beat you're here too but glad you reached out. My sister also felt a bump that was missed on the mammogram and had to advocate for another mammogram and now she is a 15 year survivor so good for you for pressing forward in your self care even though it's scary. Your title caught my eyes "it's supposed to be nothing" because that's what the radiologist told me 80% of cases are benign. I go for my biopsy next Thursday and am not hopeful because the calcifications are in a small area versus spread out which I read could be bad. But I'm trying to part myself on the back for going to the screening and marching forward. We've got this! ❤

oh Gretchy I understand the stress! We really have to be our own advocates. Everyone kept saying it was nothing even on the radiological report but i just didnt' feel comfortable so I went to see my breast surgeon who knows me and my boobs well. He did not dismiss me, instead he was the one who opted for a biopsy. I should have the results this afternoon. My stomach is in knots i cannot eat nor sleep.
I'm hoping for B9 results for us both! xx
