well made it to my gym yesterday, first time in months! My neighbof is a member of the same gym and she said folks were asking about me so.... i went for a short visit, till i rea.ized i was having a small diareaha issue! Managed to clean up in rest room but not pleasant.

Iris, I've been wearing bladder pads ever since the last months of pregnancy 35 yrs ago. (My fave is Always Discreet--moderate regular for day, moderate or heavy long for sleep). I've gotten into the habit of keeping a couple of panty liners in my purse just in case. (Super-thin, foldable).

Not quite ready for the gym again (especially personal training) due to my quirky back, so just going to walk, use my treadmill, and lift hand weights. Fatigue is lifting now that I've started taking B12 pills.

Iris..hope the urologist can come up with some answers for you .

We had some awful news yesterday . My son-in-law's sister who got breast cancer at 30 found out she is stage 4..She's still only 38 with 2 little kids. :-(

I hear you, Snaffle. Life for us is waiting for the other shoe to drop from now on. But take comfort in the knowledge that it took years for that tumor to become detectable, and it's not a ticking time bomb with a short fuse like oncologists used to think. In 1975, my MIL noticed her nipple was inverted and then found a lump. She went to the gyne, who had her transferred to the hospital for a biopsy...as an inpatient. Back then, knowledge about breast cancer was so primitive that doctors thought it spread like wildfire--and it was unheard of to have an outpatient biopsy, go home, and wait for results. You had to sign consent to have an excisional biopsy under general anesthesia, with immediate modified radical mastectomy (all nodes, plus part of chest wall) if a frozen section came back malignant. Yup--she went in for a biopsy, and woke up missing her breast and much of its surroundings.

We know SO much more today: staging, grading (Nottingham score), mammograms, ultrasounds, MRI, hormone receptors, HER2, OncotypeDX, etc. These days surgeons go in knowing what they'll find, where to find it (even if there's no lump to be felt), how big and how any stray cells are likely to behave, I got my "uh-oh" routine mammo report 8/18/15--a day after the mammogram; additional imaging 8/24, biopsy 9/8 (had a non-refundable business trip 8/25-9/7), path results 9/9; and surgery 9/23.

So I understand the frustration of wanting this thing out of you ASAP. But you will be okay--our personal anxiety is not as justified by the state-of-the-science as it used to be.

Iris, I think salt air is good for us all! Hope you get back to the coast again soon! I was on the east coast mostly for work last week, but did get a chance to have lunch by the sea on Sunday with my son and his gf near Providence. The weather was perfect! Of course I ate lobster :-)

Lucy, I am so sorry to hear about you SIL's sister; hope she gets a great treatment plan in place very soon.

Snaffle, welcome and pull up a chair on the Crazytown porch. We've got hot chocolate with ativan sprinkles, or a nice glass of ice tea, or even an ice cold margarita, and will sit and wait with you. We've all been there.

Had chemo yesterday, late day appt which is not my fav. But did have, long talk with the np wno is new, it was good

Next pet scan is next month but yesterdays blood test was pretty good

Stuck in CT again. This time it has nothing to do with me. Got news over the weekend that my 91 yr step-grandad isn’t doing so well. They suspect congestive heart failure and he may end up in hospice. On top of this, my 12 yr old Sheltie looks like he is reaching the end of his life slowly. So between these two things, I have been very stressed out.

Iris..yes...wine counts 🍷🤣

Mommy ..glad to hear your fur-baby seems to be a bit better ..And hope your grandad recovers as well .

I haven't visited this site in a while, but I have a MRI scheduled for tomorrow and I'm looking for a little support. I haven't told anyone (actually finally told hubby today) as I'm just hoping to share good news once it is all over. If all is well, my 5 year cancerversary is on Labor Day. I have waited so long to hit the five-year mark - if tomorrow doesn't give me an all clear, I'll kind of be devastated. Hoping for the best.
