Hi!

I was diagnosed on 8-8-19 with Grade 2 IMC. I just found out I am ER/PR+ and HER2+ as well. I was scheduled to see the local surgeon (who did the biopsy)today to discuss surgery and treatment. After speaking with a friend who just went through this last year, I am moving my case to a different breast center, which makes me feel lots better about any surgery/treatments. Until I "know" all of the facts, I am still a bit anxious. I did find this forum over the weekend and I can't tell you all how much better you made me feel just in listening to your stories and reading your various comments. Although it's sad that we all have to be here, at least we're all not alone!

I'm just ready to get started on fighting this cancer!

I was just diagnosed with IBC in both breast in June this year. Had a bilateral mastectomy on July 11 with spacers inserted for reconstruction. I will not have to do Chemo or radiation, thank goodness since I was still at stage 1. I will however need to do the hormone pills.

I still have two drainage tubes in and am very frustrated because this is going on the 5th week. I guess I want to know if this has happened to anyone else? I still feel tired and achy and I assume that is normal. But I don't really know. I haven't been out of the house except to go to dr appointments. Just don't feel like it. I don't think I am depressed, I think I just want everything to be normal again.

I know this is a new normal but I want to continue my life as it was. I want everything done and finished already. I am not a patient person. LOL.

Am I trying to hard or is this normal for a recovery time?

I know how you feel! I’m ready to get back to normal too and you’re farther along than me! I will pass on a bit of advice from my friend who went through this last year. “Patience is key. As hard as it may be you have to be patient.” That and not knowing what the final word is keeps me in an emotional loop.

I wish I could help more!!
