I am still on my taxol and will finish by Oct 1. According to my surgeon, the surgery (lumpectomy ) will possibly happen a month later (beginning of November ??).

I really would like to go for a family vacation during the Christmas week as we had to come back early last year. I discussed with my oncologist, she told me I will likely feel the pain and will not be able to enjoy the vacation. But I will feel the pain regardless where I am anyway. I am wondering whether it is okay to fly, it will be about three hours.

When I was originally scheduled for a lumpectomy I was cleared to take a 5 hour flight 48 hours post surgery.

3 weeks after my lumpectomy I flew 2 hours away and had no issues at all. Yes, everything was still tender, but it was definitely manageable.

    Enjoy!

I flew cross country a week and a half after my last lumpectomy. My BS just told me to take it easy lifting things. I don’t remember pain after the first few days.

I flew almost 3 weeks after oncoplastic surgery, my doctor said no problem as long as I lifted nothing and someone else could handle my suitcase. I say ho for it!
