Anyone with spot on lung?

I had my DMX on 5/3/19, healed well and now ready for the diep flap reconstruction. Plastic surgeon ordered a CT scan of abdomen to check blood vessels.

During the scan I did ask technician if they saw anything else, like on my ribs, would it be seen and noted. He said yes, which relieved me a bit because I have always had this tender area on my right rib cage, under the breast ca breast.

Anyway, I got a call from PS that a spot on my right lung needs to be investigated before he continues and he referred me to a pulmonary Dr. and ordered blood work. My appt is coming Aug 1st. The bloodwork ordered is not standard stuff and I believe it might be tumor markers but am not sure, I asked blood draw person but he only said I should discuss with my Dr. That was 2 days ago, and still no results are available online, it was 7 vials, several different colored caps.

Did anybody else have a spot show up on CTScan? Did you do the watch and see approach? Was it Mets? I don’t know the size or anything, just told over the phone

    Hi tjohnson1971,

I had a Pet/CT scan as follow up to Melanoma(before breast cancer) and the report indicated that I had a nodule on my lung and the size (small). I don't know if a spot and a nodule are different. I didn't have any pain. After the 3rd scan -9 months, I was sent for some kind of enhanced CT scan (as the CT with PET isn't detailed enough) which showed a small area of phlegm stuck in my lungs. Gross, I know. It is distressing that it keeps showing up every Pet/CT scan but I guess the doctors figured it wasn't anything to worry about. Have another scan coming up in a few months.

I hope you can get answers soon. Sounds like your doctor is thorough and sending you for the referral to pulmonary, blood work, etc.,

Thank you Veeder14. Wow, your diagnosis is so similar to mine, except I had a double and not need for radiation. Yes, I need to chill before appt, and stop worrying- it’s out of my hands anyway

    Oh yes

somewhere along the line I had a ct scan- probably for my thyroid- and a nodule was found-- then we had 6-10 months of follow up although the pulmonologist was convinced it was just an old infection- and he was right-it completely disappeared after about 8 months-- I was having a ct scan every 6 months--once they see it they have to deal with it--- he said loads of people are walking around with nodules on their lungs- usually benign--- but waiting is scary-- good luck
