Hi,

I must acknowledge that I am so grateful for my health (knock on wood) and the ability to have had a DIEP Flap reconstruction a few years ago. During the surgery, they did have to take my abdominal muscle from the left side. What I am now experiencieng is a major bulge on the left side. Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any types of exercises or procedures that I could explore? I know it sounds vain of me to complain, but I am now divorced, and have all of the challenges of dating in my mid 40's with the added bonus of reconstructed breasts, a weird bulge on my stomach, and a host of libido, dryness etc. from having ovaries removed as a precaution. I thank you all in advance for your advice, and for being a part of this community. I've never posted before.

I thought I was ready to move on from the message board but I’m not. Why? Because of a bulge in my lower abdomen from my DIEP surgery. I thought I had a hernia, still not sure, but the PA ( in plastic surgery dept) told me it isn’t a hernia. No other doctor in the team will check it, they just tell me to ask the plastic surgeon. I won’t be seeing that doctor again because I am done with treatments.

Did you find out any more information on the bulge? Mine is painful at times but most of the time it is just annoying and a reminder of having had breast cancer. Mine is along the incision line.

I really hope you post here again. I feel like I am the only one with this!
