Wednesday Weigh In

I'm laughing at your post, Ruth, because it so applies to me and my relationship with the scale!
-
-
Really really funny. And true.
-
😁 guilty! Next Monday is always better!
-
Ha Ruth!
Last week’s beers and booze have left the building, and so did four of the five lbs that were parked here. Why not all five, though?!
-
Down 1, still up overall after my back to back business trips, but keeping up the good fight.
-
Down 2...still working off the "bounce up" from vacation and business travels...trying to prevent a "bounce up" from being the "new normal" See my GYN in two weeks for my annual...still 4 up from last August...so short term goal is clear! Even though I would be happy to just meet it half way...TT
-
I definitely gain and lose the same 3 lbs over and over. If I let it get to 10 on this short body, it would literally take me a year to lose it. Here’s how my dieting goes. I am up about 3 lbs because my son is on prednisone, and well I eat with him too much. Been trying to lose it all week, messed up Thursday finishing his waffle fries that he couldn’t finish. I couldn’t let them go to waste! Friday I was super good again. Weighed the same Saturday morning. Discouraged, I went to breakfast with him and ate cornflake crusted french toast with peaches and vanilla creme anglaise with three sausage patties. Lost a half pound. I give up trying to figure this out.
-
Staying steady this week. School starts for me on Monday...where did the summer go!!! TT
-
Same weight. Still want to lose 5 lbs. So. Darn. Hard.
TT hope the transition back to school is easy!
-
Just got back from a family reunion & leave again tomorrow for a couple days. I PROMISE when I get home Sunday, I will start to log the food again, the only way I lose weight!
-
I’ve stopped posting and have been gaining weight. Got up to 160lbs, which is the heaviest I’ve been for a few years. So I’m going to try OMAD - one meal a day - you can only eat for one hour each day and the rest of the time you fast. I’m 24 hours in, and will keep posting.
-
OPAD - one post a day, Scotbird!
Am leaving for Lisbon tomorrow and didn't lose the pounds I usually gain while away beforehand. Uh oh. I will have one meal tomorrow but only after my flight. The rest of the holiday will be about binging, knowing me.
-
back home from the beach today. Gained two pounds. I could tell. My swimsuit was still wet when I used the ladies room yesterday. Trying to pull it back up over my rump was a near impossibility. I thought I might have to phone my DH to help lift the spandex. Today- Getting out on the bike to work it off!
-
LOL, Falconer!
-
Down 1 from last Wednesday...but just back from annual GYN appointment and up 3 from last year...the race is never won, we just keep on making laps! So keep on it fit friends...Heidi, I too try to have a pre-vacation diet as a buffer -- enjoy Lisbon! TT
-
I started logging my food on Sunday (after I got home from my latest jaunt), and have lost 2 pounds since then. If I keep logging the food, I will take off the weight. So, I am going to be really serious and try to get it done.
*I always eat what I want to vacations!!!! I just have to behave once I get home!
-
Still faithfully logging my food intake & exercising lots....down another 1.8!
-
I lost 6 pounds this week! Intermittent fasting really works but it’s quite a commitment. I do want to lose the weight I’ve gained recently though, so I really want to keep it up. Not sure how I managed to drift for so long that I added nearly 22lbs in a year.... that is extreme and a bit worrying. Hopefully I’ve come to my senses now. Low BMI is definitely associated with low recurrence risk. Got to keep reminding myself.
-
Way to lose Scotbird! I should try fasting to push me over the hump!
Ruth- the food journaling is what I should be doing to!
We were at the beach for a week with the grandkids. I didn't over eat while there. I prepared dinner at the condo every night. That's so much easier that trying to feed my girl and 4 of the grandkids. I did partake in the nightly ice cream shenanigans!
No gain no loss....I'll take it for now😜
-
good to hear that everyone is satisfied at their weekly weight check in. I took off the two pounds that landed on my butt while at the beach last week. So back to my spot on the scale. Five pounds over and my clothes could fit better if I dropped lbs. I'm going to follow your lead ScotBird- my teaching schedule this year means I don't have a break until 10:45 AM. I leave the house at 6:45. So I will eat one big meal at 11 AM and then wait til supper. Hopefully.

I've had some nice success with the following. Like ruthbru I started logging my food choices using the my plate app. I also started a new exercise program the Livestrong 8 week challenge that I've been following for 8 months (truthfully 9 months this week). I was 160+ lbs in nov 2018. I decided to make a long term goal but I'm way beyond my target date of 3 months. That said I have made it to 139 lbs since then. I have 4 lbs to go to meet my goal. I have found that the commitment to my goal has been my strength. It's taken twice as long and likely 3 times as long by the time I get there but I feel great. I do the 'stronger' workouts usually 3 or 4 days and work outs from a trainer friend for 1 or 2 of the other days. So yes only one rest day a week but you'd never know you were working out more than that. All the best every one
-
Good plan. It's working well to have that kind of weight loss. Now if I would just add exercise. . .
-
Congratulations to those successful in dropping lbs. I wish I could add my name!
-
I am participating in a clinical trial that aims to recommend foods tailored to your individual response to food. In phase one, they found that even identical twins have different responses to foods. So I am eating their provided breakfast and sometimes provided lunch, and then testing foods of my own choice the rest of the day. I can’t wait to see my results and I hope it will help me decide once and for all how to eat for my health. My weight has stayed steady this week, and I was worried I would gain because I feel I am eating more than normal.
Good work, everyone. I like intermittent fasting. I think it is easier to maintain for me. it seems like when I ate breakfast early I was just hungry in two hours and wanting to eat all day. Molliefish, great accomplishment even if it took longer. A+ for sticking to it and not getting getting discouraged. Healthy habits are more important than just losing pounds.
-
twohobbies, what an interesting trial! molliefish, A+++ for persistence.
gained a few pounds on vacation and working to get back down asap.
-
That is very inspiring molliefish, I think the fact it takes quite a long time to lose weight can be good if it means that you permanently switch to healthier eating and exercise habits, gradually losing weight then sticking with the healthy ways. I stayed the same this week, and am still fasting intermittently, and exercising more. My goal is to lose 18 pounds by Christmas - about a pound every week. Then I’ll be back to where I was about a year ago! I just took my eye off the ball and put lots and lots of pounds on. My problem seems to be that when I get to a good weight I stop eating healthily and start putting it back on again, whilst tellin myself excuses about why it’s OK toneat too much (eg stressful time at work, deadline, vacation, injury, moving house etc). It’s so hard to stick with the discipline!
-
I may end up going back to WW. Tried on clothes yesterday and the mirror was very unkind as in honest.
-
Down 1 since last week...but then realized I didn't post last week...when I was up 2!
-
Same as last week. I didn't log my foods.....
