Hi everyone I'm in the UK and on waiting list for delayed reconstruction with implant though I'm not sure still so trying to research during the wait. As I had radiotherapy my surgeon is doing Lipo twice to soften the area he says my skin is healthy but I'm still a bit concerned .

However I'm also a bit worried about lipo taking small amount of my fat from tummy area. My breast lump was just under the skin and very aggressive does anyone know about the safety of this and possible effect on any dormant cells. It seems it's a common procedure now and my surgeon keeps saying I'm more at risk from my original cancer than anything else many thanks .

Manc - I did a fair bit of research on this and it supports the opinion that there is no greater risk of recurrence if fat transfer is used. I hope this helps. I will be considering this next year. Best of luck.

hi. if your doctor has decided for the lipofilling, so it should be that but the breast tissue does not only contain fat tissue it has connective tissues as well and filling with the fat from your tummy might be beneficial for the tummy but not for breast. i don't think you wish to undergo any change in the shape of the breast once the lipofilling has been done.there are chances that once lipofilling has been done then there could be sagging in the breast due to all fat tissue.it would be too much to change your decision if once you have undergone this procedure.please talk to your doctor again for a second opinion before undergoing the procedure. good luck and god bless.
