muddling~It’s only Because you’re one of my peeps and i care a great deal about all of my sisters. I always think my appointments are going to go wrong. Please don’t think that. Much much love and hugs.
-
Grannax, Hoping for your new treatment to zap those mets into nothing. You’ve put up with a lot of waiting. Come on, Monday!
-
It amazes me how we can go from highs to lows and back again with this disease. Grannax and gumdoctor.....i’m very Sorry to hear about the progressions and how this terrible disease has erupted when it wants to... turning your lives upside down. On one side we have Micmel and mae NED or stable and on the other all hell is breaking loose. I so wish we understood why it goes to sleep for some and not for others.
I have a progression and am waiting for a biopsy of nodules onmy chest wall on Aug 6. So right now the cancer is sort of sleepy but making itself known. This will be my third biopsy in 2years.
Be well dear friends,
-
Rosie~Hello beautiful good to see you
Pots~💔. Cancer is an individual disease for sure, that is why I believe immunotherapy is honestly something to really dig into. Our cells did this., why can’t they shut them down, with our own immune systems. ??? It’s maddening. I am sending nothing but good thoughts. As much strength over the miles. Much love too ~M~

JFL~The last time we saw Parry was when she came out and checked in around the time when my father passed and that was May 11th. after that time she checked in and mentioned her eye sight and keeping up with getting that checked. I haven’t been seen her since. We are all quite worried. Good to see you though. Hope you’re well. -

I’m wondering about animalcrackers and leapfrog also. Hope they are ok.
-
Good morning All -
Port surgery went very well. Nurse Valerie who loves cats (left) took care of Patient Valerie who loves cats (right).
Now on to Carbo + Abraxane chemo this afternoon.
Exhausted and relieved to be moving on to treatment. It has been about 2 weeks with nothing while this liver monster and inferior vena cava blood clot keep growing...
Thank you so very much for your support.
Gumdoctor (Valerie)
-
nkb~I heard leapfrog is doing ok! She is at her apartment still and is fighting right alongside of us. I even think I read a post someplace she was just living life and was backing away some. It was ibrance or bone Mets threads. From what I can tell she's doing ok.
Haven't heard from animal crackers. Another good point. I hope these ladies know we care !
Gum Doctor ~Hello Beauty. Look at your beautiful smile. Take one hour at a time if you have too. I found abraxane to be more mild than the AC chemo was. I am holding your hand. We will get these super hero
Nurses on the ball! Hugs hugs hugs to you our sister!
-
Miss Valerie, you’re looking good despite all you’ve been going through lately, and especially post surgery! Here’s hoping your new treatment kicks some ass.
-
I love the name Valerie! And I agree Divine. She’s a little cutie pie! And you go Divine. Kicking. Some ass!!! Wahhho. Lets attack some cancer today ladies !!!! Love you
-
And may we LOVE Them!!!!!!!!!
-
Hi all. Gumdoctor- In your pocket today. Hope for a good day for all. I am just lounging at home today.
-
Thanks ladies. I appreciate your concern, prayers and support more than you know.
Gumdoctor. I'll be posting a pic like yours soon. Turns out that my port doesn't work, have to get a new one. I'm really bummed about that. You know what that means.......more waiting for Grannx2. Grrrr. I hope I get a nurse who likes cats and whose name is Vicki. Lol
So I'm waiting for the call to tell me what plan B will be. I am totally shocked that you were able to get your first infusion the very next day after surgery. I thought I'd have to wait a week for it to heal. That's good news, Gumdoctor.
More good news, the pharmacist said that my two drugs, gem/carb do not cause hair loss. Anyone here had Carboplatin with no hair loss? I know Gemzar does not. Any info appreciated. I'm very excited to keep my white ponytail.
I'll keep you posted.💞
-
My girlfriend with NSCLC had carboplatin alone and did not lose her hair!
-
Hallelujah for not loosing that amazing ponytail sweet woman!
Hello Santa~~~Good to see you always.
A beautifulsunset~ we have your hand as well. Sorry if we get sweaty, but you can’t get rid of us.
-
Gumdoctor, you and that nurse look like you could be sister. I even went back to read your post again just in case you were sisters and I missed it. Good luck and minimal side effects to you.
Pots...I am sorry to hear this. I shake my head and feel a helplessness over every woman (and man) on this site going through this.
Grannax, thinking of you.
Hello to everyone else who posts here. I read you daily.
-
Grannax get the new port and a nice cat loving nurse. We’re with you all the way!
Gumdoctor amazing to see you moving forward through all of this. You are a force to be reckoned with.
Nice to see everyone reporting.
I PMed Parry awhile ago and she said she was having trouble with her phone. No good news though. I hope that’s changed.
Haven’t heard from skitzblitz either. Has anyone?
It’s another rainy day in FL we’ve had 2 in a row

makes me feel like a little Ant!!

I have more news. Chemo will start early on July 31, with or without port. UGH. But, they are still trying to get me in to IR to put a new port in prior to chemo.
Gumdoctor what sedation meds did they use when they put your port in? My son, the anesthesiologist, said he uses propophol for that procedure. Last time, ten years ago the used general, something about my heart. Don't remember. Have you had any SE yet from chemo? I took Abraxane in 2010 I didn't have too much trouble except for hair loss. They didn't give me steroids, just Benydryl.
This time for me they are going to give 10mg IV dexamethasone. Plus they are splitting the dioceses of Gem/Carb into two. Day 1 both, day 8 both the day 15 off, it's a 21 day cycle. 💞
-
Grannax I had a new port put in in 2017. It was a twilight sleep. I don’t remember anything but I felt like I didnt sleep. I pray you get great doctors and nurses. Mine were upbeat and played music. Glad you have a plan now for July 31st which is right around the corner.

grannax~ I don’t know what I would have done with out my port.I have no veins left to pull from anymore. It’s hurts pretty badly. I am wish l you smooth sailing. With your new tx. I want it to be easy for you... the port really does help. I call it my third eye. It goes whever I go!
Tanya~I was out cold. I have heard of twilight before and had one operation under it. It was with the music and etc as well. They went out of their way to make me comfortable.
Anyone who’s waiting on answers. I’m in your pocket.
Much love to all
-
it looks like I will have my dye study/port revision by my own IR on Tuesday. Then Gem/ Carb on Wednesday. Liwi and I are on the same drugs, Gem/Carb. I started a new thread for us. I hope it works well for both of us.
-
Hi all, not much going on here, just checking in. It’s been a quiet couple of days here. Thinking of you grannax and gumdoctor.
Micmel, you ok?
-
Gumdoctor,
Have to echo what others have said....you are a cutie pie! I will continue to pray for good days ahead for you. My gut tells me you have many more birthdays to celebrate!
Booboo (aka Laurie)
-
Mel,
I talked so much about you to my girlfriend who went on vacation with us (she and her husband) that she wants to meet you! Of course, I described you as a ROCK STAR, because to me you are! Hope you are having a few good days in between the others. Love you, girl
