How long after chemo did u get on Tamoxifen?

I have a new onvologist...fired old one...

FINISHED chemo in march and just this month got on Tamoxifen. my oncologist would say see you in two months...maybe start then...huh?


SO it's been nearly 4 months for me and only after finding a new doctor.


I guess I thought u needed to wait...but family members said no. why?

    On another post it appears you are starting radiation?? That's probably why the oncologist hadn't started you on tamoxifen yet. I think most of them like to wait until you are done. My onc started my tamoxifen about 3 weeks after my last radiation treatment.

    I agree that most oncologists seem to like to wait to start tamoxifen if you're doing radiation. My oncologist did not though. I started radiation and tamoxifen the same time. Had no issues.

    yes. I fired my first one. I needed the meds for the last year...
