Rotated TE

So.. the expander on my right side has rotated making it look like a vertical football and my left side looks like a horizontal football. The PS wasn't worried about it so I wasn't either. But last night when I should have been sleeping I started thinking about when the TE are exchanged for implants. What will keep them from shifting? I guess if they are round that wouldn't matter. But what keeps them from migrating up, down or off to the sides? I am feeling super panicky about this whole process. I freak out when I get a haircut because the change is hard for me. How the heck am I going to deal with this kind of change? I know I should just be happy that the cancer is gone and be thankful. I'm really trying but feeling pretty down about the after effects of all of this.

Hodgepodge, while I didn’t have an issue with the TE rotating, when I got my implant in it kept flipping on me front to back. It also seemed to move around quit a bit from side to side. Also, it just didn’t look right because I had excess skin on insides and outside under my arm. When I got the implant put in my PS said he would tighten this up but alas that didn’t happen. Last week I went in for my nipple reconstruction he also tightened the pocket where the implant was and also removed the excess skin, it looks good now and doesn’t move around. Make sure when you have your discussion with the PS that he tells you how the size of the pocket will be adjusted and if there is excess skin get that taken care of during that surgery so you don’t end up with another surgery like I had.

I found on the internet that people do have this problem so just make sure your PS tells you what his plan is to correct it. Take care and wish you the best.

MACTAZ, that makes me cringe to think about it flipping over! I'm so sorry you had to deal with that. I will definitely talk to PS about it! Good advice, thank you.

While uncomfortable it wasn’t that bad, just some days before the final surgery where I didn’t like the result - now I’m very happy. FYI, I also had the nipple reconstruction. It is a personal choice and one I decided to go ahead with and am happy I did. If you ever have questions feel free to private message me. Wish you all the best
