Itching

Is there anything I can do for post surgical itching? I recently had exchange surgery and have been cleared to take off the surgical bra but when I'm not wearing it, I feel intense and persistent itching at the lower edge of the implant in what would be my under breast region. The only way I can sleep is to wear the bra. I'm not taking any medications that would cause this and I believe it to be a nerve issue.

I haven't had the exchange surgery yet. I did have EXTREME itching after the DMX though. It was all I could do to not scratch to bleeding I would get hives all around the incisions. I think mine was related to the glue? It got much better once the glue was gone. During the worst of it I took Benadryl and used a Benadryl gel that may have helped some. I am so sorry you are experiencing the itching and hope it resolves quickly!

I had CRAZY itching along the front of my lower legs after bilateral knee replacement. I figured it was related to the nerve block they'd put in to decrease the post-op pain. The only things that helped were ice packs and pain cream, such as Icy Hot or Biofreeze. It took a few weeks to fully subside.

Aspercream with lidocaine helps the itches for me.
