Hi all, scans are done although they had to stick me four times even with the ultrasound guidance just to get a vein for the contrast......did I ever tell you, I hate CT's for this very reason.......grrr! Good news is that there are no new Mets and the ones that are there are looking pretty stable. You might say I'm a happy camper right now.....lol.

Had the first Faslodex treatment today and so far other than a lose bowel and a really drippy nose the se are okay. If this is all I get then I'll be happy with that also......I'll just have to make sure I have plenty of tissues in the house.....lol. I go for the second treatment in a fortnight.

Boots, another pic for you, taken on my way home this evening.

Chrissy, I am doing a happy dance for your good news!! ๐Ÿ’– so thankful you are thru with the testing. I kept checking to see if you posted anything yet.

And the picture is just lovely. So kind to send it.

If I was close I woulld bring you the softest tissue made for your drippy nose. (I had that last year after my short lived chemo treatment.)

    Hope the Faslodex goes well.

    Thank you for posting!

    Thanks girls!!โค

Had a few more se's kick in after I posted but nothing that can't be handled with rest. Everything lasted until Friday and then just seemed to disappear........for which I'm truly thankful. Not so bothered about heading back for treatment number two in another week and as for now, I'm back to being as normal as I can be.๐Ÿ˜

My bathroom is almost done, we are just waiting on me finishing the vanity......I decided to convert an old timber desk and if I say so myself, it's not going to look half bad when I'm done. Once installed I'll post a couple of picks. I've done a very ultra modern, minimalistic flat floor look with no tub.......I can't get in or out of one......so have gone for the rain head and hand shower and I'm loving it! You may have guessed, the shower is usable as is the toilet. The tiling and painting is all done......it's just me holding up the works.

Got a big weekend coming up, son in law is the drummer in Australia's only Pink Floyd cover band and they are in concert in the city so we will be attending.......that's Saturday night, then on Sunday our daughters have organised a celebration afternoon tea as it's our 50th Wedding anniversary. Apparently there will be about 40 people there.๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Well, enough about my doings, how is everyone else?

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Thanks, Kathy! Lovely to see you, it's been ages. Hope you are doing fine and dandy and enjoying your summer days.

Yep, I wasn't sure we would get to the 50 years when I was first dx with stage IV but I'm very happy that I have managed to defy the odds and this crappy disease. Friday is also my hubby's 72nd birthday.....we were married on his 22nd. I thought it would be a good thing and he wouldn't be able to forget the date........not so......for many years he would even forget his own special day.....lol. I must admit though that as he gotten older his memory has improved.....๐Ÿ˜‚

Chrissy, Happy 50th. That's a real accomplishment. We're headed for our 60th on New Year's Eve. I was superstitious about my 50th and didn't want a party. I think the 60th will need something.

Thanks, Wren! Wow! 60 years is truly an amazing achievement and definitely deserves a celebration! Our girls wanted a big to do but they were told just an afternoon tea would be party enough.....lol....I'm not the party girl I used to be.๐Ÿ˜‚

Chrissy, Wren - Congratulations, huge milestones well worth celebrating whether with tea or spirits; hubby and I are 44 years, so not so shabby either :)

As well, I had scans July 3 and and am considered stable (20 months now) so lots of happy going on right now! I wish the same great results for all of us, take care!

And Wren..to bring in the New Year with 60th

wedding anniversary ...that is just awesome!

Me and my DH will be 48 in March. I would love to have a small celebration ...we will see.

Tomorrow I drink the nasty barium for CT Scan. First one since I started Anastrozole in December so I am concerned. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Then blood wk later this week to check that wacky thyroid and try to get correct dx for that.

Chrissy...Hope the concert was crazy good. Not in a band right now but my Son is an awesome drummer.

Happy so many have good reports. ๐Ÿ’“

Boots, the concert was amazing!!! These lads, (all over 40....lol) are all very good musos and really love what they are doing and it shows. It was a full house and nobody wanted it to end.

The celebration for our 50th was lovely! Lots of gifts but the best one of all was the birth of our greatgrandson! He has arrived early and weighs in at just 5lb 2oz so is very tiny but he is just fine otherwise......and, of course, beautiful but I just might be a little biased there.....lol.

Thanks every one for you good wishes, I much appreciate them all.

    Hi to everyone,

    I would appreciate some advice.

I have been taking Anastrozole since December. Tried Ibrance 125mg - but didn't get thru first cycle and was neutropenic... had an infection spent week in hospital.

Been only taking Anastrozole since. Had CT scan in this month. Bone mets did not show progression. No other organs involved. Yay!!

MY Oncologist wants me to start Ibrance again. First she said 125mg...but mmm no thanks.

Then she said 75mg....now I am struggling to decide. Is Anastrozole enough for me right now?....does Ibrance add that much help?? I know it adds nasty side effects!!

It is hard for me to wrap my brain around depleting my immune system to fight this dread disease!? (heavy sigh)

The decision has to be my own I know, but sometimes when I come here and talk to the ones really going thru this and who understand well...it helps me. I am grateful.

ChrissyB hope that bathroom is coming along and you are feeling OK? Wren , SoCallLisa, Karen1956 and to all who are here hugs.

    Thank you,

    Bootsie

Hi Boots. In answer to your question, yes, it is enough. I was on an AI (Anastrozole/Arimadex, Letrozole/Femara, Exemestane/Aromasin) only for 9 years and was NED after one year and stayed that way until June last year. Obviously it's your decision as to what your treatment is but I would be checking out what exactly would be the benefit of the added med.

Thanks for asking how I am. I'm doing well and tomorrow is treatment number three with the Faslodex /Fulvestrant. I was lucky enough not to have any side effects from the last one so hoping that continues.

The bathroom is done except for the vanity.......I'm still working on that but the weather has not been condusive to drying paint and seeing as how that is what I need to do.....lol.....I have to be patient and do it bit by bit as the weather allows. It is so nice to be able to shower in the newly designed recess.

I don't know if I have told you, but my younger daughter is in Russia at the moment and today she summited Mt. Elbrus, the highest mountain in the Caucasus Mountains. I have been holding my breath while waiting to hear from her when she reached the cabins at the base. I received that excited message from her this evening. This pic was taken on the summit with the others of the team. She is front row, second from the right.

I haven't posted in awhile. Wondering how things are going for all?

    Chrissyb you OK?

SoCalLisa...Wren44...Karen1956...hope you all are OK too.

I am in between MO as mine is leaving the practice this month. :( Not sure yet if I will stay with the group??

My CT Scan in July did not show progression. I am only on Anastrozole.

Feeling Ok... neuropathy in hands..rt shoulder & arm discomfort. Hard to pick up things on floor (like penny or thin paper) or pick up glass of water sometimes.

Otherwise I am ok for now. Going into fall which is a nice time of year. Going to Rockport MA with family in October.

Thinking good thoughts for everyone that has to travel this road.

Hey Boots! Sounds like you are travelling reasonably well at the moment and good scans are always a bonus for sure.

We are heading into Spring with all the vagaries of a change of season ...... mother nature sure can't make her mind up some days........lol. My big problem with that is, Summer is not far behind and definitely not my favourite season at all.

I'm doing well, thanks Boots for asking. Faslodex is turning out to be easy and I have a great nurse who administers it and other than skin break I literally feel nothing......not even a sore butt after. My biggest se is fatigue but hey, it could have been so much more. No scans scheduled until end October/November.

Saw my Opthmologist yesterday for my six month check after having cataracts removed and he was very happy but, and isn't there always a but?, he wants me to see a neuro-opthamologist, not sure what's going through his mind but I'll go along. Have to wait until he contacts me about the appointment so not sure when just yet.

Heading down to the city again on Sunday to my niece's 13 birthday party........her teenage years have arrived and I really feel for her parents.....lol. (She is the child on the right in my avitar photo). Then next week Wednesday we are off to Brisbane in Queensland to attend the wedding of my hubby's nephew. We will be staying for a week as it will give us a chance to catch up with a lot of his side of the family.

Well, I think that's gotten you all caught up with my goings on, a bit of a book but never mind, lots going on.

    Take care all!

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

    Hi Chrissy,

Hope you are still doing ok with Falsodex. Looks like your scan will be coming up. Sending good vibes for good results! Did you see the eye specialist?

We are in our fall season. So pretty but weather can be iffy....I like the crisp days though...sunny but a chill in the air with beautiful colors everywhere.

You were going to family events ...A 13th birthday and a wedding...so nice to part of it all. Sure they were happy to have you there.๐Ÿ’–

Met my new MO...it was a good visit. She said I could stay on just Anastrozole for now.

Wants to see me in 3 months..then will discuss adding anything and injection for bones, which I don't really want.๐Ÿ˜•

Repeat scans in 3-4 months. Wants me to have colonoscopy. Ugh! Scheduled for Nov.

Have an appt in Nov with MO I went to for a 2nd opinion back in January at one of the other cancer clinics in the city. My new MO says she is excellent and will welcome any input from her.

You were on Anastrozole a long time if I remember correctly. Did you follow any food or supplements to help you with SE...exercise??

Take care of you & yours..

Hi girls!! Welcome Roseanne7!! Yep, I think I'm one of the original no nonsense people.......lol. Glad you like the heading.

Yay Lisa!!! Great news from your onc!! I hope those good reports keep coming till the end of your days.

Oh yes, that Apple pie.......oh yummy! Hope you had a mouthful for me too. I often think of my visit there and the fabulous days I spent with every one I met. I'm still hoping to be able to get back there one of these days.๐Ÿ˜Š

I have just heard that Muddlingthrough has completed her time on this earth......her job was done and she is now at rest. I know she popped in to this thread a couple of times but I knew her more from another.

On a happier note, it seems that the Faslodex is working for me. I had a CT last week and the report said no new Mets and the ones I have seem to be stable......yahoo! Happy with that I am.....lol.

Second daughter is in Nepal at the moment, trekking and climbing mountains.......everything crossed that she stays safe.

Hang in there lovelies and I'll catch you all later.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy
