it has been awhile since I have posted on this site but today I went for an MRI of my c spine and t spine. I had my 6 month checkup last week and my blood work came back fine but I had told my doctor I had been experiencing stiff neck and shoulder pain and machines for about two months. I should add that Imhave a history of neck and shoulder pains and aches. Ben gay is my best friend so this didn't alarm me too much.mit comes and goes and seems to get worse if I am stressed or do a lot of reading , wrestling with my pillows at night. I have on occasion taken a muscle relaxant which helps some , ibuprofen helps less. I probably wouldn't be concerned with this under normal circumstances but I confess to be a little paranoid now that I have had breast cancer especially with the triple negative. I have no other symptoms and my oncologist didn't seem overly concerned , kind of ordered the MRI for my peace of mind. I guess I am just letting my anxiety get the better of me and I should be better about not allowing my worries and concerns get the better of Me. Anyone else out there have symptoms of stiff, painful achy neck and shoulder pain and tightness but no other real symptoms? I lost a kind friend early in the summer to cancer after a thirteen year battle. Have also had to put down two loved pets this summer. These things hurt and added to stress. Any suggestions or advice to help with waiting for MRI report would be much appreciated. Wish I was better at this. Thanks.

Hi Cinderella, I was searching the site and came across your post. I hope things turned out well for you. I have an MRI scheduled for tomorrow based on similar symptoms you described along with some raging headaches. The neck pain runs up into my head and my PT suggested occipital neuralgia? Headaches likely related to hormone therapy, but, like you, trying not to be crazy concerned, even tho that's hard to do. What was your treatment

Falconer, Let us know how it goes. Hoping for some benign explanation.

Falconer, did you learn what was causing your headaches and neck pain? I hope it was benign and treatable.

I've got neck pain up onto my skull and raging headaches, too. I also have a "possible occipital neuralgia" diagnosis like you did. If you don't mind sharing, what did you find out about your symptoms? Did PT or other treatment help?
