Hi all,
Doris and I have talked about this and I spoke with dear husband and there is a possibility we can possibly make this trip. After 2 major surgeries in less than a year, and darling MJ's long journey.. I'm so ready!!! Our son is getting married on June 2 then off for a weeks honeymoon so things should be calmed down around here by then I would think...considering his fiance works for us, I would need to wait until they are back from their honeymoon...does it matter to anyone that my tumor was benign and I didn't have bc?? I would have to make sure that our youngest daughter is around as my active but aging dear mom in law lives here on our property..if I can at all arrange it I would love to be there and have the chance to meet so many of you..alot of you I know from chat...and our MJ thread sure has brought us all close to say the least...and made us true sisters..dear hubby says its approx a 2-3 day drive from here..and yes we would drive it..we have an RV are there any parks handy that anyone knows of??? Let me know...if anyone has any info...I do not want to offend anyone..as I mentioned and most of you already know I do not and did not have BC but I did have a lumpectomy a few yrs back, and this last round I had a tumor in same breast..but luckily it was benign...it was this site and the chat room and all of you wonderful people here that got me thru my 14+ weeks of waiting for my biopsy...after that I was so engrained I found it hard to leave the site...would love to meet everyone face to face...
thanks
love and hugs

That would be so wonderful, Elaine! I,too, had a lump and did have rads. WE are all from the same family and North Carolina would love to have you!!! It is a beautiful state(no,I do not work for the NC Tourism Office-ha!) I am not sure abt the rv parks as I live abt 3 hrs away. I will see if I can locate any info abt it and get back to you.
Pls do come!!! I am going for the weekend and would love to meet you and your husband. We are all in this together is my philosophy...life is too short.
Sunny weekend to you,
Iris -
Oh Elaine Dear, you are surely a sister in many ways. We would love to have you, I don't think you will find any objection from anyone. Rose will be bringing her husband and son and maybe other's are bringing their family's. Any and all are welcome. I would sure bring my husband if he were still here with me.
Most of the hubby's know as much about this disease as we do, they have traveled the journey with us. Elaine, I also consider you a caregiver, you have led MJ through her last valley and been much support for me as well as others. We all love you and don't concern yourself that anyone might object. What kind of person would do that knowing the compassion and support you offer to one and all.
Hugs

I am strongly considering it providing health reasons do not hold us back..hubby is all for it..it is 1360 miles from here to Wilmington...he figures about a 3 day drive for us...maybe 3.5 with the RV on...I'm thinking I will google rv parks and maybe choose one and set reservations just in case we can make it...thank you Doris my sissergurl for the vote of confidence and everyone else....i would sure love to meet you all...
love and hugs
Elaine

THIS IS JANKAY
I AM IN EAST TENNESSEE, I NEED A RIDE TO NORTH CAROLINA IN JUNE. I AM IN A WHEEL CHAIR AND DO NEED SOME EXTRA HELP. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF U CAN HELP -
Hello all
I hope I can make this trip; it is a long journey for me; the only thing, so far, is that my son and I are planning a trip to Ohio in June, so I can meet my great grandson who was born the end of September. Nanny, get ready!
MJ -
JANKAY HERE
IT LOOKS LIKE I WILL MISS THE TRIP BECAUSE OF THE EXTRA HELP I WILL NEED. IWILL BE THERE IN SPIRIT THOUGH. HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GOOD TIME. -
I'm going to try and stop in for a visit.
I have a place in Atlantic Beach so it isn't too far to drive to Wilmington for the day.
It will be nice to put faces to names! -
After reading all the names on this post- and now hearing that lindaUK is coming to America for this event, I may have to put life on hold and start to plan this. I think NC is prob too long of a drive so I'm going to check out some flights...
anyone staying at innkeepr want a roomate?
What airport do I need to fly into? I know nothing about NC.
Very promising though. -
American Airlines and Delta fly into the Wilmington airport. Its a smaller airport but I took a hop from Atlanta the last time I went.

Very exciting stuff. I can't wait...
So I guess 2 star hotels don't have hair dryers in the rooms??? lol -
Okay, I can make it without the hair dryer but do they at least have that cute little coffee maker in the room? I hate having to get dressed just to go down and get that first cup of coffee of the day!
-
Bumping up! Its getting close.
-
Okay, we have less than a month for this get together. Doris and I have made our reservations. If anyone is still interested in getting together Saturday and Sunday, please pm me so we can start to coordinate.
