What is the abbreviation TCHP and P? Not on the list.

Hello, Teaka! TCHP is a multi-drug chemo regimen that contains:

T - Taxotere (docetaxel)

C - Carboplatin

H - Herceptin (trastuzumab)

P - Perjeta (Pertuzumab)

To expand on the post by the mods, the TCHP regimen is generally given to those with larger Her2+ tumors that require the addition of a second targeted therapy, Perjeta. Taxol, as a stand alone chemo agent, combined with Herceptin, is usually used for smaller tumors - predominantly Stage 1. This combination has been found to be effective for small Her2+ Tumors without subjecting the patient to a multi chemo regimen that may be more toxic and/or cause additional side effects. Also, the Herceptin is given with Taxol for the initial 12 weeks, then alone for the balance of the year. It’s sometimes a bit confusing because you do receive it for a year - but concurrently with chemo. Wishing you the best.
