Lisa, wow, I've never seen so many hot air balloons together before and they are so pretty and bright!
-
That’s a beautiful photo of the balloons!!
-
Lisa,
We have a local balloon festival over Labor Day. I've been there but way to afraid of heights to go up in one.
Final caught a Swallowtail in my butterfly bushes. Cell phone shots only so hard to get really good pics.
Scottie

Scottie, that's a really good photo.
-
scottie. Good catch! I didn't go up in balloons either.

I am recovering from the new shingles vaccine so haven't done much. You all are sharing my FAVORITE things. Scottie, love the butterfly. It is my favorite of the native species here. I absolutely LOVE hot air balloons and was pretty obsessed with them in my earlier days. I did take a hot air balloon trip and it was awesome. It was a package deal of balloon trip and dinner afterwards to share pics. This was in the days I was not really into photography and I accidentally deleted most of my balloon pics because I thought I had saved them to my computer which was three hours away. After I had deleted most of them I got this sick feeling that I didn't remember saving a file called Balloon Ride. Well I did lose most of my pics but I do have one that is kind of neat. Will share that. This was taken while on the balloon ride and it is a reflection when we passed over a body of water. I have no idea what the white is.

Our neighboring town has a balloon festival every July 4. Here are some pics from quite a few years ago.

took the grandkids to the Birch Aquarium today and saw these sea dragons
I I took this with my phone because my camera had a hard time focusing
-
Lisa, that is a good photo! It's very hard to photograph through glass, so you did well.
-
Nice pictures! I would love to see one of those balloon displays in person, so breathtakingly colorful!
I took these two photos of some baby cardinals that were hatched hidden in my gazebo awning while I was recuperating after my Bmx.
I couldnt see them from where I was on the ground,so i just held my phone up and snapped these, I love them ! It was a great diversion to watch these little guys grow up.

Ooooooh, I just discovered this wonderful thread for the first time.
I love photography though I don't take as photos as when I was younger (just turned 75 and can't get around like I used to). Anyway, below is one of my favorite people shots:
I had a lifetime dream to go to Paris. Never got there until 2006 when I visited a friend in Ireland (I'm from the US). She told me that it cost only $50 to fly from Ireland to France. Booked a plane as soon as we could! During the three day trip I was like a child in a candy shop.
I got to spend only a couple of hours in the Louvre. I visited every place (too) quickly to see as much as I could in a few hours. My eye caught an artist sketching. I snapped it quickly so as not to disturb her. Taken with a Canon PowerShot S2 IS.
"Sometimes I do get to places just when God's ready to have somebody click the shutter."

viewfinder, that's a great photo of the artist. The statues remind me of the ones in the 2005 film Pride and Prejudice.

Haven't had time for picture taking for a while but enjoying seeing everyones pics. I made a whirlwind trip to my Mom's to turn in my VA application for her..........now the wait to see if it is denied which I was told seems to be par for the course now in our region. Once I am feeling better I hope to get some camera time in before my next longer visit downstate. The heat wave has past so I hope this week to get some pics.
-
that sailboat is beautiful and so refreshing to see in light of this heatwave

-
Mumito, that's a lovely photo! It looks so peaceful!!
-
How are you doing, Aussie-Cat? Have you been able to remember more of the good times than the bad?
-
mum. ...I have missed seeing you and all your wonderful photos. Are you " home ?" And when are you going to come this way again? I 🦋
-
Wren, thanks for asking how I'm doing. I miss my twin sister's daily emails and the future seems more scary without her. I remember some good times with her, I guess. I have a cold at the moment but I'm starting to feel better. How are you doing?
-
I'm doing ok. I had a memory test today (at DS's request) and passed. Normal for my age. Good to know. I didn't think I had a problem but DH has severe problems and I might have been comparing myself to him.
-
Wren, I'm glad that you're doing okay. It's good that you passed the memory test but I'm sorry your DH has severe problems. That must be very difficult.
