Time between diagnostic and biopsy?

I have been here before, as I have had numerous call backs after mammograms. This time it is for a 1.3 cm asymmetry that can be seen on one view only. It may match a known benign mass in the same area, but that mass has not been seen on that view before--so they want to be sure (at least from what I can figure).

I have the diagnostic mammogram on the 27th (Thursday). I am planning on taking a trip to the beach with my girlfriend and am leaving on the 30th (Saturday) and returning a few days on Wed. Should I need to have a biopsy, will they let me wait a week between the diagnostic and the biopsy appointment? Last time I had a biopsy, they scheduled it for a few days later.

My friend said I should live my life and schedule around the appointments, especially since I don't know anything and it is likely not serious.

Sure. I go to a really busy center and it took over a month for them to get me in after my diagnostic mammogram

Thanks. Before I had a biopsy they got me in immediately, so I wasn’t sure what is typical. But it seems from reading posts on this forum that people often wait a week or more

I had a week between mammogram and biopsy, that was their first available.

Thank you for your responses. I went to my diagnostic and it was a fibroadenoma that I've had since my thirties. It is in area that is hard to reach on one of the views, but it appeared on that view for the first time during my routine mammogram this year. They just wanted to verify it was the same one, and it was. So, I will not need a biopsy.
