Dogs, dogs, dogs!

jo your big guy looks so much like my Nick. I’ll dig up a picture. We got him from a lab rescue group and thought he was just a black lab mix but his foster dad said he might be a flat-coat retriever.
-
ingerp- they look very similar. My dog was a rescue so I don't know his pedigree. The vet said part lab and who knows what else. Your dog's hair seems to have a little bit more curl to it. We both have good looking dogs. My dog is almost 10 years old and he has always been on the Slender side.
-
Oy--my Nick is also 10, and he's become pretty chunky lately. Actually--he's gone up and down the last few years. When he starts to get larger, I put him on the "weight management" dog food and he trims down. We also were recently on vacation and he came back from the boarders HUGE. I'd never heard of a flat-coat retriever back when we got him so came home and googled it. His head is a little boxier than most of them but his body looks *just* like one. It's known as a happy breed, and that he is. Big, dumb, submissive. He's been wonderful.

Jo...such a full house or should I say bed.
Onceabird...welcome and I think Iris will keep you busy while you are " monitoring"
(I'm a page or so behind the conversation)

Onceabird what a beautiful pup!! Does she talk? I had a husky that could say I love you, still miss him dearly.
Jo - love the bed full of dogs! How sweet they all cuddle together.
Ingerp Nick is a beautiful boy!

I love Iris. What a beauty onceabird.
jo6359 that looks like my bed too
. My Lucy sleeps on top of the pillows too. My husband calls her the princess and that's her throne. The rest of the dogs just spread out.
-
60notpretty- my Frosty likes his stack of pillows to sleep on. If there isn't a stack of pillows for him to climb up on he will bark and carry on like a little King. How we spoil our little fur babies
-
My little guys each have their own beds. Like these. My old man rolled over and slipped under the bed. I had to pull him out. He went right back to sleep on his happy bed. We DO spoil them .

micmel-precious.

Wicket discovered he could get under the motel bed

when you quick look, it looks like a fox!
-
My cats do that when we are traveling.

well my fellow dogs lovers. I had an interesting evening. I was preparing to feed them like I do every night. Started to walk down the stairs and Deeohgee started gaining steam behind me, knocked my legs out from underneath me. I went into a full fall/slide down on my lower legs. 8 lovely stairs I had to suck it up and fall downRug burn bruises and I believe my shoulder is messed up. Like a torn rotator cuff. I was alone. Knocked the wind out of me and laid there for ten mins until my son came after I called him. He had to lift me up, I was stuck underneath the gate. with both dogs walking around me. Not much area to walk either. Tag was whining and putting his body weight on my chest, he was trying to make me feel better. Deeohgee was howling so loud to get someone's attention! Smart dogs. But I have to say today I am really achey and so sore. My neck is hurt. I'm Lucky I didn't break anything. So be careful ladies !!
-
micmel- You have a much better idea tomorrow as to how badly you're bruised and if you have a more serious injury. House scary for you and your fur babies. Your son must have been terrified when he received your call.
-
Yikes
-
Ouch!! Feel better and send the dogs down first next time.
-
Mic...so sorry. Trip to the ER needed?
-
Luckily no. Got some great rug burns. And I tore my rotator cuff.. soooo X-ray confirmed it. Maybe starting phys therapy. But ouchie!! Thanks for asking. It’s always something

Magiclight-cute.
I have to share pictures of my seven-month-old great-niece serenity. She loves dogs . This is Serenity getting her puppy kiss. Even though this is my nephew's first child, I am so pleased he is teaching her to respect all dogs and to not fear them.
-
That’s absolutely adorable !!!
-
puppy kisses are the best, no matter your age. Looks like both enjoyed it❤️❤️

Mommyof2- so true. Some people treat dogs as their toys. You become bored with them and you throw them away. In my family, most of us have cats and dogs and they become part of the family from day one. My mom has photo albums of her grand puppies and grandcats. When I was diagnosed with cancer, my first thought was of course my parents and my second thought was okay I have to make sure that if anything happens to me that all my pets are going to be taken care of.
-
I treat my dog and cats like they are my kids. I’ve raised them from babyhood, so I am their forever Mom. I am always snapping a picture of my kids I hate when people treat their pets like a fad, it isn’t fair to the animal. They didn’t ask to be treated that way.
-
Me too I have a skin kid, 2 fur kids. I am mom to all. I couldn’t dump the dogs any more than my DD.
