Scar Tissue vs possible cancer

So I had excisional biopsy almost 3 years ago and it was ADH. I healed pretty good no lumps near excision area and you could hardly see the scar. Now about 2 months ago I notice a new lump about 3 inches above the excision area. So I got an Mammo and ultra sound and the radiologist says it looks suspicious and its concerning because scar tissue should have shown up not long after the procedure. He recommended another biopsy, this time needle biopsy. Has anyone had scar tissue show up years later? and not on the actual excision site?

The scarring I had was right where the incision was: it always showed up in the same spot on subsequent imaging.

Years later, I required needle biopsies of two other areas. The radiologist was somewhat misleading on the first tumor, telling me that 80% of samples are benign while he was writing a report describing a BIRADS-5 situation that meant highly suggestive of malignancy. It turned out to be invasive lobular carcinoma.

I think that it sounds as though you are very aware of your body and will go through with the required actions to figure out what is going on. Know that, should the result mean you are joining the club in which no one wants membership, surgery/radiation and even chemotherapy are all doable and lots of support is available.

Thank you so much for reply vlnrph, everything feels different this time and I'm pissed that I didn't ask more questions with my previous dx but I will fight harder to make sure I'm getting the right medical advice because there could have been more done hopefully I'm not joining the club and can get the right plan of care and hopefully prevent or delay it for quite some time.
