Worried
hello my name is hope and close to two weeks ago I developed a rash between and underneath both my breast. It’s itchy and it burns. I figured it was a Rash from my bra so I used gold bond powder which didn’t do anything for me and even tried oils and nothing. Yesterday i was able to get into the obgyn and told her how itchy and irritated it was so she prescribed nystatin powder. I still don’t be really feel any improvement should I push for or two get breast clinic I have pain in my breast here and there like shooting pain sometimes I’m trying not not to freak out but it’s hard my obgyn didn’t seem normal concerned and said it’s no normal my advice would be appreciated

Hi Hope.
It sounds more like a fungal rash or a yeast rash to me but obviously I'm not a doctor.
I've had them before a few times in my life, they are irritating but definitely treatable.
If your doc rxd you the Nystatin powder yesterday, I'd give it a few days to work. If things continue to get worse, the rash spreads, you have swelling, or increasing pain etc, I would contact your dr to be seen again.
If I remember right Nystatin works like an antibiotic does, taking 24 hours to start working.
Thiis must make you feel a uncomfortable and anxious. Just try to stay calm as best as you can and give the meds a chance to work for a few days. HOpefully in another 24 or 48 hours you will see improvement. Hang in there.
Wishing you speedy healing!

hello spoonie thank you for taking the time to respond did your breast burn too? Mine does and it is a bit warm to the touch not to mention the shooting pain. I’m a thyroid cancer survivor so I’m trying not worry but it’s hard I’m going to take your advice and wait a couple more days see if I feel better

Waiting is indeed difficult. The unknowns can get the best of us, can't they?
I can totally understand why you would be especially concerned being a Thyroid Cancer Survivor.
When I've had yeast issues under my breast...never had experience with it until after my Lumpectomy/RADs...but yes, the skin did burn, was sore, very red, and felt hot.
Is the breast itself burning or are you referring to the skin that is under your breasts/that has the actual rash?
I'm sorry, I don't remember having shooting pains along with the rash. Just the rash hurting.
Hang in there as best you can. Good luck.

the breast itself is burning as well as where the rash is. The unknown is definetly scary and enough to drive us mad.
