Breast cancer overdiagnosis

brial! good choice, girl! sending tons of benign wishes your way, may we all get the best possible results in our upcoming tests, imaging or biopsies!

-
you are totally right. After what I’ve found out yesterday I see how wrong I was. This is the big problem: cancer is sneaky and so scary. I’m sure all ladies here that went or still going through a lot would have been happy to find the “In situ” stage rather than the invasive phase. I pray mine is b9. However, I’m happy I went and I’m confident that the best thing to do is to have the biopsy. I hope all ladies here going through tests now are receiving good news. Hugs to all of you😍
-
brial, I'm so glad you met with the Radiologist to get more information about what your imaging shows.
With everything we all wrote, you summed it up succinctly and perfectly - cancer is sneaky.
Good Luck with the biopsy... hoping your get benign results!
-
Hugs to you, Brial. We'll be happy to share in any good news you get, and we'll be supportive if it turns out you're one of us.

Brial, I just read through this post as I just scheduled my MRI for this coming Sunday, June 23, and was looking for information about the process. Unlike you, I am having breast changes but nothing has shown up on the mammo or US. I'm hoping the MRI can answer why I have sharp pain, thickening and bloody discharge from my right breast. I saw that you had your biopsy scheduled for today. I hope it went very smoothly and you get your results quickly. Sending b9 thoughts your way!

Hi Carissa,
In my case I had an MRI with contrast substance. I think this is what they might do in your case. The biopsy was exactly like the MRI process with contrast but they also did the biopsy. I’m sending b9 thoughts your way, too. MRI will show if it is something questionable.

Hello sweet ladies,
I received a b9 result. It is PASH. It is very strange because that breast is smaller and PASH is associated with breast enlargements. I haven’t seen the pathology report. I’m on progesterone 14 days per month and I asked if it is progesterone reactive. But the response was that it was not tested. I would like to know if it is a way to ask to be tested. I think I had this mass for a long time. And probably now is shrinking since my breast gets smaller. They want to follow up with an MRI in 6 months.
-
Very glad for your results!!
-
That is great news Brial! Hopefully they will find a way to get your question about the progesterone answered

-
Great news, Brial!
From my quick search, it appears that PASH is thought to be hormone driven, and when tested, most PASH is PR+. So you may be right about the Progesterone connection.

Wonderful news! I think it was worthwhile that you opted for the biopsy, now carefree and happy you go on with your life!

-
Brial, this is wonderful news! I'm glad to hear they'll be watching you closely with the dense breast tissue. I never chimed in, but from your first post I was impressed that the doctors were suggesting an MRI since the mammograms of those of us with dense tissue look like a snowstorm--and cancer looks like a snowball! My tissue was rated a D--extremely dense--and if I knew then what I know now, I would have insisted on a yearly ultrasound at the very least. My cancer should have been found far sooner.
Truly happy for you!
-
I have that extremely dense rating too. My radiologist always asks are you getting a yearly mri. Yes I am they seem relieved since mammogram is not reliable for me. However, it was the yearly mammogram that found my 2 cancers.
-
CarissaRae I hope you will get a b9 result, too.
-
brial, I'm so happy you had a b-9 result. You were very, very brave and also had a lot of courage to post after all our comments. We were just really concerned for you.
-
Excellent news briall! Take good care of yourself
