MRI measurement of ILC

Hi everyone, I’m new in “town”—just diagnosed with ILC. I had an MRI on Monday and from what I’m reading it sounds like the measurements could be a lot different on MRI from what the ultrasound said. Any personal experience that anyone would like to share? Thank you in advance!!

Yes, I was told 7mm and it turned out to be 1.8cm. Of course, I know gals that had the reverse; told it would be bigger and it turned out smaller.

    Best to you!

my impression is that MRI usually shows larger than ultrasound, but I’m not sure if that’s true across the board. They really don’t know what’s there until surgery and pathology.

From everything I've read, ILC size is less important than for IDC, if that is helpful at all.

Interestingly, my mammogram AND my ultrasound found ZERO tumor. None. They wanted to send me home and see them the following year.

Mine was the what the MRI showed but not sure my ILC was typical, it was a very distinct tumor 1cm almost identical to my 1cm IDC tumor. MRI was very accurate in my case.

Hi- my mammogram showed a 9mm mass and the mri showed 11mm. When they removed the tumor it measured 11mm. This was the first year I had a 3D mammon’s. Curious if it would have been seen in a regular mammogram

    A late bump on this-

My ultrasound showed 2.7cm, MRI showed 2.9cm plus a 2cm area behind it that was susipcious.

The actual tumor was 3.0, plus the tissue around it had a lot of atyipcal hyperplacia.
