Seroma (from Radiation) or lymphedema

Options

I’m wondering why I suddenly have no seroma or lymphedema build up that needs to be drained after my breast implant surgery. I had my expander in for 3 - 4 months. I regularly had to go have fluid taken off my breast. I asked the PS and his nurses and they say they don’t know. I’m glad but want to know if there’s something done during surgery they don’t want to tell me. Thanks.

    Welcome to BCO!

I don't know anything about implant surgery, but is it possible the implant is taking up the space? Seromas fill-up in a void. If there isn't a void there won't be as much fluid.

Thanks for replying. I posed the question on another support group. I think you are right. Just to know it’s a natural phenomenon comforts me.

Ellen, I have been very swollen and was worried about compression bra during rads. I was told by PS that swelling could disappear during radiation therapy.
