Diagnostic Mammogram and Ultrasound - worried.

Hi all, I went for my standard screening last week at a Center that is affiliated with my hospital. They conducted the mammogram last week and I was scheduled to do the ultrasound next week. I received a call this morning and told that they are cancelling my ultrasound and have sent my file to the hospital's breast clinic. The rationale provided is that the equipment is more sophisticated and the staff is specialized. They will conduct another mammogram and an ultrasound at once, in two days’ time.

Thoughts? Sounds to me like they saw something suspicious. I’m trying to tell myself that the odds are in my favour (scar tissue and densebreasts may be getting in the way of a clear image) but my anxiety has just gone through the roof. I'm 2.5 years NED.

Anyone have any experience or insights to share?

Just popping in to say hang in there. You know the drill--try not to worry until you have full information. Probability is this is just them being super cautious, as they always are in this area.

Because of how scar tissue and all can look, they want the experts doing it. Their caution and wanting the best to do it is a good thing, but the waiting is hard. It would have been nice if they would have sent you there to begin with.
