HikingLady, Wren and Nancy, thank you so much for your sympathy and kind words. I really appreciate it. It was a hard evening at my twin sister Sally and her husband's place, but also a special time. We cried a lot, hugged a lot, reminisced and made plans. I'm so glad that Sally's suffering is over! Mum and Sally's husband were both there when Sally died and Mum had just sang the 23rd Psalm - The Lord's My Shepherd hymn to her, which seemed to give her peace and enabled her to pass on. It seemed like a good witness of God even though they aren't Christians. There is a lot to be thankful for even in the midst of the sadness.

April1964: Yes, you can do layers using elements and make a collage.
There is a thread on computer glitches, problems etc and even though it has been inactive in a while, you might get it restarted re: use of elements.

Hugs to you.

Sally is AussieCat's twin sister who lost her battle with breast cancer. Our condolences to Cathy and her family.

Nancy
-

We had some of those Matilla poppies in our yard. They were about 3-4 feet tall and just gorgeous. Someone whacked away at them and cut about half. All we could think of was someone thought they were opium poppies. They clearly had not just picked them to take inside. They don't look a thing like opium poppies, anyway.

Jo-5 It looks happy at the moment ---a beautiful pot.
-
Lisa, nice capture with the bee and that pretty flower.
Joanne, that is a beautiful flower. My Mom had one for years that was a start from her Mom I think. I don't think she ever took it outside. Obviously yours is doing quite well. That is a neat pot. My sister has one and it usually blooms well before Christmas. Looks like you will have quite a display soon.

My first hummingbird pics of the season. Not great quality but not many hummers at this nature center so far. Hotter than blazes today!!!
-
Joanne, we must be thinking the same. I was going to put a subtitle peek a boo. I talked to a worker at this nature center and he said there having only been three hummingbirds there which for May is really unusual. We have had bad thunderstorms for days and that might be part of the problem. Can't wait to get home and get my own hummer feeders up. I know one has returned as it hovered and looked inside my patio door and was probably not happy to see a thistle feeder in place of the hummer feeder. I hope it found something before I return home.

Another day of fishing below the dam.

Band...love your image with the wind sweeping the feathers, the rough surf and the diverse textures.
-
Nancy, that's a great photo!
-
Thanks Magic.
Thanks Cathy. How are you doing? Your family? You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
-
Thanks for asking, Nancy. It's hard for it to sink in that my twin sister is really gone. I'm scared about the funeral on Wednesday at 3pm (Melbourne time). I think a lot of people will get a shock when they see how similar I look to Sally. I've already had a couple of people react, even on the phone that I sound like her! Also, my oldest sister doesn't know yet and I'm scared of how she'll react when she hears. I will be glad when this week is over and I can try to deal with it in my own time.
How are you doing?
-
Cathy, you have so much to deal with and I am saddened to hear that your older sister doesn't know the news yet. I pray that you will have the strength to cope with the funeral, with your older sister and all of the guests. Everyone copes with grief in their own way and I know you will be glad when you can have your own personal space to grief. Hugs to you, my friend.
-
Nancy, thanks so much for your prayers and kind words!

To honor our heroes on Memorial Day

That is an awesome bird photo Band. You need to have that made into a canvas that you can frame. You could also sell copies on a site like stock photos. Per use fee.
I have missed y'all but hope to be back with my own nature photos after labor day. We are making a 4-day trip to the barrier islands so I can photograph. I'm having surgery again in a few weeks so will have to live vicariously through your photos for awhile.

Hey Scottie. I have wondered what you are up to. Miss seeing your pics. Hope you get some good ones on your trip. I know you have had lots going on and looks like you had some major surgery recently. Hope your upcoming surgery goes well so you can get back with your camera. Thanks for the nice compliment.
