Thank you all for your kind words.

Put this planter together today. Did 3 more, some simple, some complicated. Resting now and will be sore tomorrow. So worth it. I literally "smelled the roses" this morning while I had my tea on the front porch. Heavenly.

please keep the photos coming. We are taking a break from gardening this season as there isn’t time to take care of it. Planted a handful of flowers but no “food”. Suppose that will be good for the soil. Will be living thru your work this season

Gumdoctor, pretty rose garden. I know that was a lot of work. Put down a bunch of mulch and the weeding will be easier. I have now learned don't dig up a bed unless I am going to mulch it. Still I feel like my entire weekends are mowing and weeding.

I moved my fairy garden from a container into the bed with the irises and used some plants and rocks that I already had to make a little yard. I made a little fire pit on the left so all the fairies can come by for a bonfire and Game of Thrones tonight.

Two hobbies- I love your fairy garden. I love GOT too.

I want my own dragon, I have a place for it to live up in the volcanic caves up on the mesa across the street from me. Do you think it can work?

Jazzy, who is going to tell you no to the dragon? Dracarys, city council! I am really going to miss GOT, and nothing surprises me more than to say that. I don't watch much TV, I had a hard time getting through all the violence initially, and here I am hooked and sad it's over and can't stop re-writing the last couple of episodes in my head. It has been a fun thing to share with my 22 yea old son. Now back to real life.

Congrats mommyof2! I had mine finished, but something decimated my cuke seedlings and now I’ll have to replant. 😞

We are getting another blast of winter. It has been colder since late last week and today a high in the mid 40s and there is cold rain around, snow around us. I checked the calendar again and it still stays it's May 20th. Winter won't let go out west this year. Forecast is for a cool summer.......

Got a new backyard swing - of course it has been raining here ever since we set it up. The hope was sitting and looking at the backyard, I would be more motivated to actually put in a garden.. Right now it is weeds...

Looks like it will be comfy. I love that you have the decals on your windows to tell birds they can't just fly through.

Love the dark purple lilacs. Mine didn't do that well this year. My giant rose bush tree bloomed with tons of flowers even though the snow broke a major shaft last winter. We had an usually warm spring, we kind of went winter right to summer my spring flowers were short lived. My roses bushes are doing really well. But it it is a constant battle against black spot and insects. I liken it to fighting cancer, cut, spray, and keep debris picked put. Daily battle.

Wren, those I actually painted - forgot I used to stain glass paint.

Well, all my roses are in bloom and I have allergy issues. The roses are so pretty and being they are the old ones that actually smell, I love it.

Oh we have such amazingly talented gardeners in our group.

Below is one of my happiest places...my front porch with a heavenly view of the valley below. I finished the 3 planters on the right today. I like to combine several things so these are never easy for me. And my severe back pain is here as a result...ended with 5 minute work sessions for the past 2 hours to rest my back in between so I could finish tonight...

    So worth it.

While working on them, I saw at least 10 different birds at the bird bath. At least 5 actually took a bath and flapped their wings. I am so excited :) What a gift :) All of it.

    The vines are mandevilla.

I have had hibiscus on this porch and they have not done well. The mandevilla are very hardy and do extremely well with minimal attention, in this climate and location. This will be the third time I have used them here and they will grow to completely cover the stakes. I have had to trim them before just so I can open the front door :)

Gumdoctor I would love to sit there too. Beautiful.

Jazzy what are the yellow stalk flowers? That is one I do not recognize so it must not grow near me.

I got my purple themed annuals planted, plus two pots for the porch and planted various lettuce seeds in containers on the deck. And of course my fairy garden. I am trying to stop now and not buy additional items but I think I need gardenaholics anonymous. I see the mandevilla and I think, oh I could put that on my trellis for the summer! Oh I probably needs hibiscus too to continue the tropical theme, And some hanging baskets for the deck...

    Meow13,

Did your last pic show the giant rose bush tree?

    TwoHobbies,

    I love the fairy garden.

    Gmafoley,

The new backyard swing would be a perfect place to rest while putting in the garden.

    Gumdoctor,

I would sit in the chair with the foot rest stool and enjoy the view of the valley below.

    Jazzy and Cpeachymom,

I love the different shades of orange blooms.

Husband photographed the following wildflower in bloom.

    *trout lily*
