Oh my. One has lunch.
-
Nancy, thanks for your encouragement. I pray your sinus infection goes away soon and the antibiotic side effects are minimal.

this afternoon on my patio

Pretty!

exquisite

That's a winner Lisa. Just gorgeous.
Cathy, how are things? I have two more days of antibiotics and I will be glad to be done with them. The sinus infection is much better but I have had a bad time with the side effects of the meds the last couple of days.
I had a little camera therapy time today after my Mom having a rough afternoon. I think this is Columbine in the wild.

Nancy, I'm a bit of a wreck because of my fear of my twin sister dying and waiting around to hear that she's getting worse or has died. It is such a huge thing and it will take a very long time for me to even know all the ways it will affect me and the ways I'll miss her. I really hope she doesn't suffer much! Thanks for asking.
I really hope the antibiotics side effects ease off very soon. Pretty flower!
-
Cathy, that is very understandable that you feel like this. Such a hard thing to cope with and the waiting I am sure is just awful. Holding you in prayer during this most difficult time.

Bandwom..The camera is a great therapeutic tool and as a method of communication. I'm glad you took the time to pick up your camera while you are coping with your ill mother and your own antibiotic side effects.
May you find comfort....
-
I changed over to digital cameras in the middle of chemo in 2001. Never went back to 35mm.😊
-
I think I have taken more than 100,000 photos since then.
-
At the moment I am transferring 55,000 to one of my hard drives. Crazy
-
You have been busy SoCal...
My DSLRs are digital and with my L lens weighs a lot and then adding a tripod etc etc. UGH. I did downsize to the canon T71 - much lighter. I often delete way too many images and then regret that in all my years of photographing, my photo library is relatively small.
-
Yes, Magic it is therapeutic to go out in nature and lose yourself in the moment as you capture images. My last couple of posts was taken with what I call my bird and moon camera that I purchased a few months ago. It is not a light camera and is actually as heavy as my DSLR with a lens but it has a super zoom on it and has been a lot of fun to use as the super long lens are just too heavy for me to handle when I am not using a tripod.
Lisa, even though I am still relatively new to photography I too have thousands of images and over a year ago I started shooting in RAW and Jpeg at the same time. It was eating up tons of space on my computers. I have three laptops and a desktop. It is getting pretty crazy. I bought some fairly inexpensive external hard drives and I try to back up on two of them and I almost always back up on at least one of them on a regular basis. It is very time consuming but I know we would be heartbroken if something happened and we lost all of our images. I am guilty of NOT deleting when I should be but I think better to be safe than sorry. When I make the millions of mistakes that I do I want to look back at the data and see what I did and what went wrong.

Good photo, Nancy!
-
Gorgeous!!! I love the balance of the foreground focus and background non-focus, and what a lovely butterfly that one is!
-
One of my photo projects - no longer able to bike but I still have my cycling day memories created from 5 different photos.
-
Nancy, I just love the butterfly..do you know what it is?
Magic, what a neat collage..
On my way home from the grocery store, I stopped and admired a neighbor's garden. I rang the bell and the owner not only let me take photos of her front yard, but invited me to see her back yard..so many wonderful flowers, and smells..I wish I had my good camera with me, but I didn't
-
Beautiful roses, Lisa!
-
magiclight, how did you create that beautiful collage photo?
-
That collage photo would make an awesome quilt.
-
Thank you ladies. That butterfly is called a Lacewing. It is one in my opinion that the outside wings are prettier than the inside wings.
Magic, very cool collage. I agree it would make a neat quilt.
Lisa, it is nice to have a neighbor offer you some beautiful photo opps. Beautiful. My favorite is the first rose with the vignetting. They are all pretty.
-
April...I use Photoshop and lots of layers.
SoCal..you may not have had our good camera, but you had your great eye for composition.
-
thanks Magiclight! I have Elements 12.. do you think that it’s possible to make a photo collage with that?

Nancy, my twin sister died about 25 minutes ago (at 5.55pm). We will be going over to her house to say goodbye soon.
-
Aussie-Cat My deepest condolences to you on your loss. I'm glad you've shared this with us. We all care, and this is a warm place of support. Hugs to you from me, all the way from Oregon, USA.
-
Aussie-Cat, Losing a sister is hard, losing a twin must be twice as hard. Hugs to you and the family. This is a place of warm support and we hope you continue to come here.
-
Cathy, I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a family member is so difficult. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers as they have been. I pray that your support around you with family and friends will give you that extra needed comfort that you need now.
Nancy
