Had abnormal mammogram and ultrasound in April. Biopsy May 1st followed by MRI a week ago! Still waiting  for Radiologist to read MRI and send report to my Oncologist  before any discussion of what kind of surgery I can have. Does anybody have a good understanding of how much time should reasonably go by between diagnosis and surgery? I naively thought things would have moved along much faster!

I am waiting on biopsy results on a mass in my left breast and a lymph node under my left arm. While I do not have any answers to the questions you asked, I just wanted to tell you that I totally agree with you on the waiting. It has felt like a dark cloud has been looming over my husband and myself for about 3 weeks and it is so hard to think about anything else. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

I didn’t have a MRI so I can’t speak to how long it should take for results but today is May 22 and it does seem like too long a wait.

The process does move quickly once the surgery and treatments are determined - at least they generally do. Every facility seemsto operate at their own pace. I’m not a patient person so I would be pushing and shoving to get answers. What are they telling you about when the radiologist will do his thing? Does your oncologist know? Can’t your oncologist speed up the process somehow?

    Keep us posted.

    Diane

Found out my biopsy results directly from radiologist in I think a little over a week or maybe week and a half.

    Best of luck to you!

Apparently the radiologist who was to read my MRI was on vacation and only came back today. My Oncologist said he should have been told this and he never would have sent me to that facility. At any rate, now my Oncologist is away until next week, but his Nurse Practitioner is suppose to read it when it comes in and call me with the results. Hopefully tomorrow!!

I have an appointment for an MRI next week so I can’t answer your question but I can empathize with you that waiting is so difficult. I just want to know everything at one time so that I don’t creating doomsday scenarios in my head.
