How long does it usually take the glue to come off? I had a DMX on April 23 and the glue is still a hard, ripply, itchy ridge and is driving me crazy!

I had a lumpectomy April 24th and the glue on my lymph node incision mostly came off on its own in about 2 weeks but the glue on my breast incision took longer. It wasn’t coming off on its own so just a few days ago I gently rubbed on it and realized my incision was basically healed and I could just peel the glue off now. I had been afraid to rub it, thinking I’d reopen the incision but by now it’s fine.

Same here. Lumpectomy 4/18. My lymph incision was cleared of it quickly. There's still some residue on the breast incision.

You could try rubbing some lotion on the glue to see if it will dissolve

Mine took forever to come off and didn't come off until the skin sloughed off in an allergic itchy mess. You might consider following up with the surgeon to see if they can advise if you should try to remove it. I regret not doing that and just leaving it.

I used baby oil to take the glue off. Worked great

Thanks for the feedback! It is so itchy and gross! I have my next appointment with the plastic surgeon tomorrow and will be sure to ask about taking it off with lotion or baby oil. I'll be so glad to have it off.

I know it is TMI bc I was afraid of imaginary bleeding I kept the glue for 6 mo. Peeled it off right before rads started.

thanks everybody! Castigame, that's exactly how I'm feeling. It seems like it must still be helping support the incision's healing, but it is driving me crazy! Pieces just started peeling off this morning. Yay!
