My moms having a mastectomy next wednesday afternoon. Everything I read says to leave valuables at home. Of course I'll hold her purse/phone during surgery, but should i also leave them in her recovery room overnight? I would return to the hospital early in the morning.

Thanks!

I bring a soft sided overnight bag. In it I putphone and charger. I also bring things I may or may not want like neck pillow, lip balm, slippers, going home outfit, brush, toothpaste, moisturizer, face soap, hard copy of advance medical directives, etc.... Never needed a purse. I have my husband keep my Drivers License, Insurance Card and Rx Card. I assume personal belongs are safe, but you never know so I do not keep anything valuable at the hospital.

Good luck to your Mom! You sound like you are a great support for her!

I had to stay overnight for a surgery last September. I had Hubby keep everything during surgery, then afterward, I wanted my phone, face cream, and toothcare stuff. Think I kept the phone under my pillow when I slept. I didn't need anything else for just one night.
