Hi.  If you had a BMX and don't mind sharing, what is your follow up / monitoring routine?

I get labs, including two tumor markers, hepatic function, CBC, etc. and see my MO every six months. She does manual exam. I also see my breast surgeon once a year and she does manual exam too.

I'm 4 years post-BC diagnosis. My MO doesn't do tumor markers, but he does check blood work every 6 months, since I'm on an AI. My BS was seeing me twice a year for the first 3 years, but now only every 12 months. When I see my BS she does a manual exam and US of my reconstructed breasts.

I had my surgery in December and just had a follow up with BS and MO and I asked this exact question. I will see BS every 6 months for the next couple years then every year. I will see MO every 3 to 6 months while I am on tamoxifen. She will do blood work, normal labs no markers. If I report any problems like bone pain or anything, she will send me for a scan or to another specialist. They do not do scans for BC like they do for other cancers. Her reason is that its too much radiation. I reported to her that I have been feeling a flutter near my heart and she is sending me to a Cardiologist Oncologist.

My BS discharged me after 6 months the first time. He was too busy. Still have port, so see MO every 6 months. Between PCP and MO, somebody always had an eye on me.

This past January told MO of symptoms. Tumor markers came back negative. PET/ct showed a clump of nodes on the other side. Back to my BS, who I told I’d hoped to never see him again. Surgery last month, again, after bmx

    I start rads tomorrow.

Please don’t be in a rush to get away from the dr. And don’t always believe the tumor markers. Do the recommended follow ups.

Had a BMX 5/6. On 5/15 had two drains removed. 5/17 last two drains removed.

Told follow up appt for plastic surgeon on June 18th. And appt with Breast Surgeon on June 17th.

I am extremely concerned about the lumps under my arm pit.

Is this normal? Should I call Doctors? Or just wait and see?

They’re normal. Some call them dog ears. They may go down a bit. Or you can see a plastic surgeon.

Hi everyone...I was diagnosed with stage 1 four years ago. I've had absolutely nothing but examination of foobs to check for a local occurrence which is only a 2 percent chance. Seems like not enough. However the theory is if it progresses to stage 4 there will be symptoms. Really?
