Worried but trying to relax
A small tumor (mass) was found directly under my nipple last week (had mammogram and ultrasound done) scheduled for a biopsy on the 21st. Well Saturday night I noticed after getting out of the shower that, that same breast now has what looks like a dimple/indention only when I raise my arms. It's little but it's there. A little back story: 2 separate occasions last year my nipple discharged blood. At that time there was no mass, no swelling and no pain.
I only went to the Er when I felt a knot in my nipple and it was swollen and hurt. Pain and swelling have gone down.
I'm seeking advice on the indention that my breast now has. Could that just be normal? It has NEVER been there before. It just showed up Saturday night. I know we are not doctors, but just looking for some advice, as Dr.Google is NOT the best option to ask haha
Thank you all in advance and good luck on your journeys and I will be praying for everyone.

Thank you. I’m trying to stay away from google as much as possible.

Hey Sam183,
I think breasts do a lot of strange and surprising things that are not actually dangerous, and also that it's good that you have your biopsy coming up anyway. I think in your shoes I would make a very clear note of when and exactly where you are seeing the symptoms, and share it with your doctors with the question of whether this could be related to the lump that's being biopsied or whether it should have a new initial exam/US to make sure it gets evaluated.
Good luck! The waiting part is so hard!

Thank you... yes the waiting game is the hardest part ( as of yet) I am still hoping they call me sometime today, saying they had a cancellation or no show and ask if I can come in to have my biopsy done (so I don’t have to wait another week haha lmao but I think it’s wishful thinking.

I felt a hard lump during a self exam and scheduled an appointment. My lump was hard and deep down I knew it didn't feel right so I wasn't too happy to have to wait a couple weeks for a mammogram but I did and I told myself to just keep busy and try not to worry. Then a couple days later as I was undressing and the sunlight was hitting my mirror just right I noticed a dimple near where I felt the hard lump and my heart sank. I remember seeing an article on Facebook about how a women seeing the dimple in her breast just may have saved her life as it could be a sign of breast cancer. I immediately started calling other breast imaging facilities that were in my network, I found one that could get me in within the next couple days. Turned out it was cancer, I am very grateful I found it early before it had spread. We are our own best advocates and yes waiting is the hardest part, I will tell you that at the time of biopsy my dr told me that because of the borders and the way it appeared on the ultra sound she that it was cancer and most likley stage 2. I cried during the biopsy while one of the nurses held my hand and stroked my hair. I foolishly want alone for my biopsy because I didnt want to worry my husband in case it was nothing. Bring someone with you even if this does turn out to be a false alarm, because in my case my dr knew right then and there and that was a hard pill to swallow alone. Wishing you the best and hope it turns out to be nothing!!!

I'm sorry to hear that you have/had cancer. The mass/tumor i have is very small and directly under my nipple. But the indention/dimple is not even close to my nipple. The indention/dimple is on the lower inside of my breast. Like down where it would touch my other breast in the middle of my chest. During my ultrasound, my dr didn't say anything other than “how are we going to be able to get to it for a biopsy" (she was talking to the lady preforming the ultrasound. Of course I'm like “huh what do u mean?" And she said since it's directly under my nipple. Of course my indention/dimple is very light, but I definitely can tell it's there when I raise my arms up (really only time you can see it) and then when I lift my breast up (like I'm holding it) you can definitely see it. I do not understand where the dimple/indention came from. I noticed it Saturday night, but I had my mammogram done 2 days before (Thursday) and there was no indention/dimple then. If there was something there to cause the indention/dimple, it should have showed up on my mammogram????
